Burn the Amway to the ground. We need someone with experience and who doesn't spend his spare time publishing poetry. Give me a great basketball mind!

It would have the potential to be another damaging blunder.

My preference is for an experienced GM.....I think the Magic have proven time and time again that OJT for new GM's is an absolutely dimwitted move.
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

I was going to go with either an experienced GM or a young one with their Head on straight.....If Isaiah Thomas can be a GM sure as hell Adonal can be one.....Comparison to Thomas is not including his GM resume just the fact he he was a GM......

Knowing the history and the way they do business and think....I think this is exactly what will probably happen. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this ownership is way too "loyal" if you will. They are too "old-school". Bring in somebody savvy, somebody with a PROVEN basketball FO record....not a former Jacksonville University grad with a mediocre NBA career....

And I've heard him cited time and again as one of the more intelligent athletes you would ever meet. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean he would be any good as a GM. With no experience it could obviously go either way, I'm just not sure I want Orlando to be his guinea pig after what we've been through in terms of the front office over the last few years.

Otis Smith. And I mean....Colgate? I've heard Adonal is relatively intelligent but let's not go hyping Colgate up that much. It's a decent college.

Foyle is a great guy, but a high FO position doesn't totally equate to being GM. They can promote him without making him the GM. Maybe it happens, but I still think we'd hire someone with experience.

If Adonal Foyle is our next GM, I will (in this order)

--roll my eyes
--visit this board
--read the doom-and-gloom rants
--read the sensible, sober-minded posts attempting to spin the move in as positive a light as possible
--walk away from the computer and have an apple (if morning) or a microbrew (if evening)
--bore my wife to death about the news
--then, after she tells me she doesn't really care, but she's sorry my team stresses me out, then I'll sit down and hope for the best, as I always do, because that's all I can do: hope for the best.

Or, maybe I'll just throw something.

I'd prefer a proven guy like Pritchard.....hasn't won a title, but absolutely destroys it in the draft....minus the whole....uh, Greg Oden thing.

*Edit....you know what, besides the move to trade the rights to Joey Dorsey for Batum, I don't see many mind-blowing moves from him...... I guess this was an instance of putting reputation before facts....

Still, no to Foyle.

Pritchard or Tom Penn would be okay with me.

Tom Penn lost my approval when he said we should trade Dwight for Brook Lopez and Marshon Brooks (also saying that it was a GREAT deal for us).

I'm good with Pritchard though.

I think he was one of the NBPA directors, right?

But i dont think its a good idea to have him as our GM, maybe Ast. GM. Thats a good position to start his FO career, IMO.

Having another guy from Golden State scares me.

Foyle was born in Canouan, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. At the age of 15, Foyle was adopted by Joan and Jay Mandle, professors at Colgate University. In 1999, Foyle graduated from Colgate magna cum laude with a history degree.

As long as our next GM isn't as short-sighted as our current one, I'll be happy.

I'd be cool with Foyle. I wonder what he brings to the table, would love to have access to his interviews for the job.

Pritchard would be fantastic, especially for what we're gonna have to do in the next few offseasons...

Yeah he did go to Colgate, but thats worthless to me. I think he's referring to Otis ^, who's a Jacksonville grad.

I think Tom Penn is a joke, we need a GM thats ready to turn this team around and not try to glue Otis' broken pieces back together. Penn would probably trade all our firsts to get rid of Turk, or something else very stupid.
