Terry or Crawford?

Post#1 » by general » Sat Apr 7, 2012 6:34 pm

They have similar roles They have both won 6th man.The difference is Terry is 35 going on 36 years old and is 6'2 and more of a spot up or coming of screen shooter and has hit Big shots.Crawford is 31 actually just turned 32 I see and is a 6'5 Point/Shooting guard who can create by himself and is the All-Time Leader in 4pt plays Made. and "nickname" is the closer who's known for Clutch shots, crossover moves and scoring the ball. Both are free agents who would you have?

Is this supposed to be Wolves related?

I don't see Terry coming here even if we keep Webster (his cousin). He will go for a title.

I like Terry more. Crawford has a more flashy offensive handle, but I think Terry has a better probing handle and is great at using screens - intentional screens or not - and finding space to get off mid range jumpers. Terry's game is less predicated on athleticism. I think thats why we're not seeing the drop in Terry's numbers as we are w/ Crawford despite a pretty big age difference.

all that said, I dont think either is a 30 mpg guy and there's at least a dozen free agents i'd have in front of both

Eh, I really wouldn't want either. I'd rather have Crawford, he'd be more of an option to come here as well. Terry would never come here.

Yeah, pretty much this. Terry is better but he's way too old for this team and there's no chance he'd come here.

Terry is better but screw giving significant cash to these guys on their last legs.

Also, neither of them play defense. They're both below average to terrible defenders. If Adelman insists with playing 2 guards with good handles, I'd go for Tyreke Evans or Evan Turner. I would also like OJ Mayo to come (I'm not sure what his contractual situation is, have the Grizzlies extended him a qualifying offer?). The 3 of them play solid ball on both sides of the floor, if only they improved their 3PT shooting...

Let me guess, you'd want us to trade Darko for them too?

Mayo is a restricted Free Agent but Memphis is already sitting about $4 million over the cap with just 9 players under contract for next season. I find it hard to believe they will go into lux tax territory to keep OJ.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

I think Evan Turner and Mayo may be attainable this off-season.

What makes you think Turner will be available?

I think Phili may be looking to blow it up. Likely they will try to keep and move forward with Turner but they might be willing to move him if they feel they can get some valuable assets/players. Turner has shown some nice flashes but he still hasn't proven to be a consistent player they can rely on. Maybe they will feel like Williams is a better fit or maybe we can help them out another way.

I'd rather have a whole lot of other people, many of which will be cheaper, than those 2

Have you seen Turner's production since joining the starting lineup? He and Iggy have the same skillset and Turner is a 2nd year player. Iggy is getting traded to make way for Turner and Derrick Williams is a similar player to Thaddeus Young PF/SF hybrid. No way they make that trade.

I don't see why they'd trade Iggy though, he's their best player by far, and I don't ever see ET becoming that good.
