Re: The Byron Mullens Thread
Byron is also only 23 years old. I think if he continues to develop he can be a legit starter in this league. Bigs usually take longer to develop- I think he was an absolute steal for a 2nd round.
Imagine if he was a senior in college this season ( which he would have been had he stayed in college) were talking potential lottery pick because Ohio State would have challenged for the Championship even more with a front court of Sully and Mully.
I'd say his potential is at least equal to that of Tylrr Zellar who is considered a lotto pick

Us and the Grizzlies were the only teams not to have a player who has scored 30 this season for some time.

This brings a tear to my eye.
He's been playing magnificent lately and is definitely showing he belongs in this league.

^Absolutely - Mullens deserves some recognition for the work he's put in.

Really? The fact Rudy Gay hasn't scored 30 yet this season amazes me.
investigate Adam Silver

Yes, check out his gamelog - http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... melog/2012
A solid consistency of scoring between 16 and 25 almost every night.

HOWEVER a seven footer who's proven that he wants to improve and can score 20 just by taking jumpshots is someone you should try developing in a worthy starter.

Also, just say no to trading Biz for anyone in this draft.
What if we got the fourth pick, and someone wanted Biz and DJ for Davis?

Damn, great question. I love Biz, but something inside me says that you can't pass on Davis. Even if you have to trade Bismack-E (even though it was a longshot, I wanted this nickname to stick... for those who don't know - wordplay on old school emcee Biz Markie).

Come on folks...nobody is going to trade us the 1st pick for the 4 and Biz, or even 4, Biz & a S&T DJ. Davis is as hot a commodity as there has been in recent drafts. I know lots of you get jazzed over the occasional flashes we get from Biz, but the rest of the league (including pro scouts) still see him as raw with limited upside. Doesn't mean he won't improve or gain some skills...just means they know he's not going to become Superman 2, which Davis has a real chance to morph into.
I do think Mullens should be viewed with the potential to be our starting 4 or 5. I see him as a 5 that probably rotates defensive matchups with Davis depending on the players. As Davis gets stronger and puts on man-weight, perhaps Mully becomes a 4 with Davis as our 5.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

What he said.
It'll be interesting to see how Mully looks next year. I can't wait for Summer League again.

Re: The Byron Mullens Thread
I would trade Biyombo and Augustin for Davis in hot minute and without any hesitation whatsoever. No team would be stupid enough to accept that trade, however.

Eh I'm not too disappointed. Hes in the gym today along with Biyombo getting coached up by Dunlap according to Bonnell. As long as hes in a gym working on his game that's fine by me.
