Our Offseason Moves?
What exactly are our trade able assets and if any?
Do you think we can get anybody of marginal value with the mini-MLE?
Do we amnesty World Peace.
Keep Pau if we win it all? regardless

Mr. Kupchak, you're the GM you tell us what your plans are, then we'll either rip you a new one or lobby for your statue out side Staples.

Re: Our Offseason Moves?
Trade Pau for a SF, defensive PF and serviceable back-up PG (assuming we lose Barnes).

Re: Our Offseason Moves?
See if Atlanta bites on a Gasol-Horford deal or Smith+Marvin Williams with L.A. sending out perhaps Blake.
With the starting lineup settled, you use the mini-MLE and your 2013 1st to try to fill out a bench.

Re: Our Offseason Moves?
Trade McRoberts and Blake for 2nd rounders, amnesty Metta, and re-sign Barnes. One of Bynum/Pau has to go, and that probably depends on what happens the rest of the way. If Bynum continues to make undermining statements towards the coach and skipping out on meeting with management then it wouldn't surprise me if he's dealt to either Brooklyn or Orlando. If Bynum flies straight the rest of the way then Pau could be traded, and possibly to Chicago. Let's face it they'll still be looking to move Pau, and Pau would be a Bull right now if Chicago had given LA Noah/Watson/2 1sts like they demanded.
And of course re-signing Sessions. Unless Bynum's traded for Williams or a PG comes back in a Pau trade. But I think the most important move is the coaching one. If the team under-performs I wouldn't be shocked in the least bit if a coaching change happens. Especially if a Van Gundy or Sloan is available.

Re: Our Offseason Moves?
We should trade for an all star caliber pg and sf!
Either that or sign Beasley and amnesty Peace!
If bynum keeps acting like a kid I say we trade his ass for Howard.. the lesser of two whiners!

Re: Our Offseason Moves?
@Jajwanda....dude those deals with Atlanta won't cut it. Horford is OK but you're missing the point on what we need our 4 man to be. We don't need a 4 who needs shots like he does. This is why Pau is the perfect compliment to Drew now. Drew will dominate the interior, we just need the 4 to rebound and knock in a few points. Smith and Williams are trash as far as I'm concerned.

No Deep, Horford is a rich man's Horace Grant which is exactly what we need. He can play with Kobe, hit the mid-range, can guard 4s and 5s off the bench and is the all-around offensive and defensive player to play next to Bynum. Unlike Gasol he can get out around the perimeter on the screen and roll.

Re: Our Offseason Moves?
Trade Bynum and Blake for John Wall and Nene.
Keep W.Peace, Gasol, and Goudelock.
Sign a tall backup PG who can shoot and defend SGs (Jamal Crawford) and a 6'8 or taller very physical PF who can score in the mid-range and in the post (Carl Landry).
Wall, Bryant, Gasol, Nene, and W.Peace are my starters with the primary guys off the bench being Jamal Crawford, Goudelock, and Landry.
I have no idea how the Lakers could nab Crawford (who will probably want at least 4 million a year) or Carl Landry (who'll probably want something similiar).
The only assets they'd have after trading Bynum would be a signed and traded Sessions or Barnes, a large TPE, and an expiring McRoberts. Portland might be interested in Sessions (on a one year bloated contract) and New Orleans might be interested in letting Landry walk for a nice sized TPE.
However it were to get done, the Lakers should build this team around Kobe and take back the best deal that would infuse this team with life and enthusiasm while also allowing Kobe the room to do his "over 35 Jordan impersonation" in the post.
Acquiring dymanic talent like Wall, while replacing Bynum's production with Nene and filling out your bench with Crawford and Landry will fill all holes IMO.
If you do replace Mike Brown, it has to be with a guy whose name alone would garner instant respect. Kobe's lack of real leadership skills (like Jordan's) must be balanced with a coach who is a "real" leader (Larry Brown, Tubby Smith, and Jerry Sloan come to mind).
