Honestly, I would put Goran Dragic in the same class as Jrue Holiday... he has a chance to be one of the top PGs in the NBA... he's that good. I'm hoping we can get Barnes in this draft....

Dragic / Calderon / FA (if Jose's amnestied)
DeRozan / FA
Barnes / JJ / Kleiza
Bargnani / Ed / Kleiza
Valanciunas / Amir / Gray

That's a nice looking young lineup moving forward. If everyone stays healthy and the rookies produce, we'll have a good chance at making the playoffs.

Philly is the kind of team this board would write out the roster for and be like "THATS A 3 seed/CONTENDER" but in reality... They do have some decent cap space next year though.

Not sure if it was posted. If it was, my apologies :)

I honestly believe Ross may be a better pro than Barnes.
I believe he COULD be as well, I also believe he could end up a bust but "c'est la vie"

Don't get me wrong if Barnes, Beal, Lamb or MKG is available for us at our turn we take them. But even though Barnes is good he's also Joey Graham mechanical. He's nothing like Gay. Lamb is nothing Gay neither. TRoss is to Granger as Barnes is to Graham in terms of smooth feel for the game and temperament.

It's like Charlie V. reminds me of Perry Jones in temperament. Charlie V. has the tools to at least be a Bargnani and every now and then he shows enough to get a fat contract but he's not always there. That's why PJIII scares me regardless of his skillset. Drummond too.

That's also Tony Mitchell will shoot up because he has that it - an already visible transferable skill - that Leonard had last year.

Dragic is not in the same class as Holiday - lets not get carried away here. He's good but not that good.

I'm not sure even we would do that. Elton Brand is old and undersized. Spencer Hawes and Jodie Meeks are not starters on a contending team. Their top scorer comes off the bench, and their all-star has always had a 2nd banana label on him.

What's funny is that I had lunch with Terrence Ross' agent yesterday. We talked about every possible scenario. Toronto never came up.

If we took with our 2nd round picks Jae Crowder + DJ Odom we could win from this.

they are both great 7 min per game players in the nba.

I think of Crowder as poor mans Joakim Noah with some range
and DJ Odom as a poor mans Jason Terry

He's been better this year. Jrue is likely having an off-year but Dragic is getting better and having a solid year.

Jae Crowder is *Kawhi Leonard. Great defense, good athlete and great motor. And Kawhi is playing 24.5 MPG averaging 8 points for Spurs.
DJ Odom is poor man's James Harden. They play alike. The difference is that DJ is 6'3 " and Harden is 6'5 ". I don't think that poor man's Harden or even poor man's Jason Terry is worth only 7 MPG.

My predicted draft.

#1 - Charlotte - Anthony Davis ( lock #1)
#2 - Washington - Drummond ( need a franchise big, MKG + Wall = worst shooting franchise player duo in the NBA)
#3 - New Orleans - Thomas Robinson ( They have zero talent, so it's better to start with franchise big, who could be their #1 offensive option, MKG has shaky offensive game)
#4 - Cleveland - Harrison Barnes (will work superb with Irving + size on the court)
#5 - Sacramento - MKG (Team has great young offensive talent, MKG would be a wonderful piece to cement that young core)
#6 - Toronto - Jeremy Lamb (Need wing, with MGK and Barnes gone, Lamb seems to be the choice, with his freakish length and scoring ability would help the Raps)
# 7 - New Jersey - Brad Beal (BPA)

Not hating on MKG, but it's my opinion.

Who does B.C pick at 6?

I just think it is more important for us to know what the other teams are trying to get, and there is a high chance that we will drop to #7, since some team might take one of the lottery spot.

Therefore, I am not surprised we might trade up. And our ideal place to get a shooter at the wing position is at #5 without Cleveland and Detroit ahead of us.

MKG* + Wall = worst shooting franchise player duo in the NBA

Not sure if true. :D But I also think that after McGee gone they would consider taking Drummond.
# 7 - New Jersey - Brad Beal (BPA)

I think many Raptors fans would be happy to take Beal at 6 according to them he's the BPA at 6 I might agree.

If you draft Beal, Derozan might not work at the 3 spot. And if you want to trade Derozan, there is always a great possibility that a guy we are getting in return will pull off Steve Francis/Bosh type of act and will not want to play in Canada very much. Well, I hope everything works out one way or another.

Good post and mock. Torn between Beal and Lamb; can Lamb play SF with his long arms (or can Derozan play SF)? Beal is currently a higher rated prospect than Lamb but we will see once the workouts happen.

One more thing; Raptors need to tank harder
