Mixed feelings on Drummond yes, but if we pick 5-6 and he's there. I take him and run. I think Drummond and Val could be very sexy 8-) .

No thanks on Drummond. He'll be Bargnani 2.0: fanbase waiting in agony for years hoping he'll eventually find a clue.

It's very likely that Drummond and Bargnani end up being complementary players from what I've seen. One can score but doesn't defend/rebound well even though he has the tools to do so. The other can defend and rebound well but can't score even though he has the tools to do so.

Drummond's not Italian.. They will ship his ass out if he doesn't produce in three years instead of six.

getting another bargnani for the 6-8th pick instead of the 1st would be great. Please, if hypothetically val also pans out to another bargnani giving us 3 bargnani's, we would be competing for a title.

It's hard to look at UConn this year and effectively grade their prospects. That team has been a complete mess.

I think that with the right coaching, both Lamb and Drummond would have gone top 3 this year.

If Drummond and not Davis was Cal's recruit this year, I think he's the number one pick hands down. I think a coach/mentor can make a world of difference with big talent, low motivation players. See: Andrew Bynum, Vince Carter.

If by some miracle Drummond is still on the board at %-7, we have to take him. I don't think there's a question there. It's got to be him or Lamb if we're choosing in that range. Drummond as a big obviously has a higher ceiling but I wouldn't be upset with Lamb either. He's going to be a really good player.

Cal will probably sit drummonds ass on the bench every game.

If Harrison Barnes does drop to us... we have to take him. On another note, assuming he's gone... would you rather take Perry Jones or Jeremy Lamb?

The point guard crop is weak this year thus Lillard's stock is pushed up, he hasn't faced elite competition thus he's a riskier prospect, Lamb has so much more potential than Lillard if you compare the talent level. At BPA, you just can't pass on Lamb to get Lillard.

Compare the talent level??
Which area? Lillard smokes Lamb across the board! The ONLY area LAmb has advantage is compitition against, release point on his jumper, and length.

Calipari's worked with and gotten the best of Bigs that had questionable work ethic. Didn't DMC have a per of 34 in college?

put it this way: what is Lillard better at right now? Better passing, but Lamb has more upside.

I don't want Barnes either. I'd be pissed if we pick 7th and he's all that is left.

Upside maybe but that's based on so many ifs coming true.
However here's an IF: if Lillard loses 20 percent of his offensive eff by coming to the NBA vs college he's still around a 110.

Lillard has a better handle, better lane penetration, better shot, better range better athletisim, better rebounding and most importantly better leadership

If we end up picking 7th, Jeremy Lamb should still be on the board and I would take him over Barnes easily.

Lillard is a tough one. He's one of those guys who will show you in his first game whether he can play but you don't know now and you won't find out anything in 3-on-3 workouts. He could be useless or the key.

The Billups comparison would be optimal for our model, that's basically who Kidd played like last year for Dallas, but it would be tough to pull the trigger on him ahead of the top players at every other position.

Most people have never seen 30 seconds of Damian Lillard play, so they might as well STFU and let the general managers sort out where he belongs. He didn't face elite competition, but he was all his team had, which means he was double- and triple teamed. So things can go either way with him and none of us, me included, can say with any reasonable confidence how that will turn out. Steve Nash came out of a comparable situation at Santa Clara. You just don't know.

Also, Chad Ford has an interesting take on Perry Jones. Basically, some scouts are certain he was playing the wrong position. Never should have been a 5 or 4, but that he's a Lamar Odom 3 and will excel in that role.

The best advice one scout game Ford is that the NBA likes to rate players based on what they think they should be, as opposed to drafting players for what each kid thinks he should be. Jones thinks he should be a wing player, and plays more like one, so he will be a better wing player than a flex 4.

Definitely Lamb over PJ3 any year anytime.
