No disrespect to foyle I just think this team needs an experienced GM with relationships with other team execs. If the team was in a rebuilding phase then I would say go for it. Especially with things hang in the balance with Dwight an experiment could backfire.

Here's a list of NBA GM's:

What one can see is that there are a lot of 10 year GM's that have stable jobs, and a lot of newbies.

I have zero problems with Adonal.

With that said, I doubt he's a real contender if/when Otis gets fired.

Hahaha. Foyle as Magic GM? Maybe, assistant GM to Otis since they get along so well.

Interesting...
Sources close to the process said that Magic director of player development Adonal Foyle ran the teams’ trade deadline, interfacing with other teams on the Magic’s behalf.

Otis Smith’s contract gives him right of approval on all transactions, so he was in the loop on what was possible but his role in day to day has been radically scaled back.

Well if that's true then he already sucks as a GM... because while Otis was busy sitting next to Dwight during the press conference an hour or two before the actual trade deadline... good players like Ramon Sessions was being traded to LA for a bag of chips.

Have no problem with it. Don't let Otis define the GM position for you...he just made it look harder than it really is. Any bit of common sense and you can avoid a lot of mistakes. Its not rocket science.

i'd just be happy that we finally have a gm that doesn't sound like he's suffered a massive brain injury. listening to otis is like listening to freddie roach or something. i cringe every time.

If we are throwing names around why not Donnie Walsh?

He wont be GM, dont get the impression Alex Martins will impose such a position on Adonal, unless Foyle turns out to be some bad ass mofo to which all other GM's lost to in a high stakes poker game held by Duhon and are therefore putty in his hands, i just dont see it happenin
