When I watch him on the court he looks super uncomfortable with his teammates and when he has a bad game he probably feels like everybody hates him. But the biggest issue he has to face is...HE IS THE ONLY WHITE PLAYER ON THE ROSTER!!!...Think about that....He went from being the MAN on a white college team(sorry to say that, but its true) and a white university to being the only white player on an NBA roster in a predominantly black league. i think that affects him alot.

While I don't agree with all of it, I do agree that it looks like his team doesn't really have his back. The level of disgust on Reke's face when Jimmer gets caught deep in the paint or misses a quick three. Funny cause the entire team gets into moments where they make a mental mistake or go one on one or force the issue but he gets the most heat for it. I feel there is some definite jealousy going on.

The one players who does seem to have Jimmer's back in Terrence Williams. He even said that he's always looking to get Jimmer the ball.

I liked the pick because I honestly thought he would be more NBA ready than he's turned out to be. I think the team did too. They didn't bring him in just to sell jerseys.

Man y'all need to be patient. Holy crap. He went from being pretty much a God in college basketball to being put on a team where he is the only white player. Talk about pressure.

He will be fine. As touched earlier in this thread his game is MUCH more diverse than Redick's. Give him time. Plenty of other "NBA ready" players have struggled their rookie seasons. Give him a chance before you throw him under the bus. The guy had 17 points and 4 assists last night. PATIENCE.

Stop making sense dude, didn't you know that if you don't do awesome by your rookie season you're doomed to a career of failure!? :banghead:

What does Jimmer being the only white player have to do with anything? Do black basketball players not like white players or vice versa? Can someone elaborate on this?

I think the implication is that it would be a bit of a culture shock for him going from pretty much the whitest place in the country to a team of all black players.

I don't think I buy it, but I think that's what they're trying to get at.

Well it seems like none of the players have his back. Of course the black vs white thing is nonsense, but I think the change of lifestyle and his surroundings affect his game. I mean, am I crazy for thinking that?

Now you could argue he is a SG, but really PG's often need a couple of years to develop. He has made some improvements so far.

He has a dribble and drive floater now.
He tries to create on the dribble under pressure, instead of picking it up and panicking.
Has made some defensive rotation improvements, a long way to go.

Jimmer had to deal with Coach Westphal and short training camp. Give the guy a shot at least one more year before calling him a bust.

I don't think I would call him a BUST this year. But if you watch his game he is suited as a SG, but at the same time he would be a really really undersized and weak SG. Which would then provide mismatches every single game favoring the other team. If you notice his defense is so bad that when we have him in the game we instantly go to a zone to make up for his inability to guard his man. He cant play PG because his handles and his folding under pressure wont allow him to. The fact we trades udrih and our pick for salmons and move down in the draft I think has an impact on peoples impression of him. All in all with the trade on draft day and the hickson trade just makes me put him under the microscope more. I'd trade jimmer in the offseason in a sec before all his value is gone.

I agree with much of what you have to say, except I'd gamble on keeping him, unless you get a real opportunity to move up in the draft with him as a focal point.

A pragmatic expectation would be a shooting specialist, kind of like Kyle Korver, different position I know...

I don't know why you guys think he needs to be traded. He is a rookie, this is his first year and he had no offseason program which hurt him. He can still be a Mike Bibby type player IMO. That's who Jerry Reynolds compares him to also, or wants him to get there.

btw Terrance Williams loves Jimmer lol. On the pregame show for tonight's game against Dallas he was talking about wanting to show up to Jimmer's basketball camps in the offseason.

THIS! It doesn't sound out of the realm of possibility when you consider the Magoofs are the owners. Especially with everything that's been going on with the arena deal lately and the money rumors. Total PR / Marketing move.

Why would we trade DOWN to get Jimmer and Salmons? Brandon Knight is struggling a bit lately, but he's still a quicker, taller, and better defensive player than Jimmer will ever be. Beno was one of the surest players on the team. At least we knew we would get hustle, and a consistent 15 foot jumper that seemed to go in more often than not.
