Westbrook Future

Post#1 » by LongLiveIverson » Sat Apr 7, 2012 5:41 pm

Before you all jump down my throat about this just read and consider.
Your roster is near perfect, only thing possibly lacking is an inside presence to score the rock.
If the Thunder fail to make it out of the West, as much as I hate to agree with Skip Bayless it will probably be due to Westbrooks inability to distribute and "accept" his Robin role to Durant's batman. IF this happens what do you think about this 3 team deal?

Jazz- Al Jefferson to the Sixers for Andre Iguodala

Sixers trade Al Jefferson (19.6ppg,9rebs,2assist,1.6blocks) Jrue Holiday (14ppg,3rebs,5assists,1.6steals)
for Russell Westbrook, Cole Aldrich and Derick Fishers corpse.

With this deal your still staying young. Holiday is still 21 and is one of the premier, if not best on ball defender in basketball right now. His stats don't tell half the story of how important hes been regarding the Sixers success. Hes not as dominant or explosive as Westbrook but he would compliment Durant and Harden perfectly. In Jefferson your getting an established 20-10 guy in the post. His one weakness, post defense would be hidden around guys Perkins and Serge Ibaka.

If you ask me I think the best roster in basketball looks even more rounded and scary..

C. Kendrick Perkins/Nick Collison
F. Al Jefferson/Serge Ibaka
F. Kevin Durant/Thabo Sefolosha
G. James Harden/Daquan Cook
G. Jrue Holiday/Eric Maynor

Because if the Thunder don't win the WCF the window of opportunity will close forever and all of the blame will fall on Westbrook.

Holiday has regressed this season in terms of how he runs the Sixers, although I'm sure we should just go by your scouting report. If Presti wants Jefferson, he can deal with Utah directly.

I envision Westbrooks future with OKC, regardless of the results of this post season.

Derek FIsher corpse? Someone likes to read Bill Simmons...

IMHO, the Thunder are better off as-is than they are with Holiday and Jefferson.

are u crazy the thunder would be waaaaay!! better if that trade was done they would have great low post scoring cuz al is a beast in the post and jrue would allow them to have a true point guard that can run the offense and hit 3s more consistently beautiful trade

I'm now imagining a small ball lineup with Jefferson at center trying to guard anyone.

Eww.

From this year til both retire, Westbrook will be 100000000000000 times better. No reason to do it for OKC. Westbrook is already better than Williams.

seems to me, okc has been on a steady climb and meeting all expectations year after year.

seems to me all the westy haters have no grasp of westy's function at okc.

given the above, it seems highly presumptuous for anyone to assume what is best for okc, whilst ignoring a simple overlooked factoid.....this is a young team growing ON SCHEDULE.

i'd say, if the bulls "blow it" this year, then they should trade any number of players not named rose for any number of other players IN THE HOPES of creating something better,,,and record be damned.

Return to Oklahoma City Thunder
