Offical "Trades ideas + How to improve going forward" thread

Post#1 » by RexBoyWonder » Wed Apr 11, 2012 1:51 am

Mods, can u make this sticky? every team has this kind of a thread and there's nothing wrong with wanting to improve, even if you feel we would win this year.

This thread is made for trade Ideas, changes we should consider and stuff like that. let's share ideas on steps that would make us better for the next seasons.

U can say im overreacting, i dont give a ****. iv'e seen enough basketball to know what im seeing.

to me it's obvious - this team in this current makeup aint winning ****. but we do have a good base to build around with Wade and Bron. my two first steps would be :

1. Get rid of Spo :

Spo is the most robotic, no feel for the game, unable to adjust coach i ever seen on a "contender" team". he's getting outchoaced on a regualer basis and we lose to less talented teams due to his inabillity to maximize our potential. first thing id get rid of is his "headless chiken" defense original.

u cant have this kind of talent on a team and let it go to waste with no coaching.

2. Trade Bosh for a nice C + a starter PF :

Bosh is nice player but his style is NOT a Miami heat style, and frankly he's not a champoinship team kind of a big. just too soft, he's a SF in tall body. we dont need a Max player who's only contribution is outside shooting.

Im still not sure what's the best package we can get for him, but we should find some intersting options.

I would trade probably 75% of the posters on the Heat board for a second round pick

Whatever Wade was doing with his Jumpshot in 09, he better get back to it in the off season.

He should take the summer off to rest, improve his post game, midrange shot and rest.

He should not be playing in the Olympics

there's a fine line between beeing optimstic and beeing a clueless homer. if u can't see this team has sirious issues and is far from reaching it's potenital - i suggest u belong in the second group.

abot the Bosh trade : i would love the get a Gortat + Kenneth Faried or somthing similar. they might not be "allstar caliber" but they fit our team much better, we need rebounds, thougness, blocks, defense from our bigs. not mid range shots like Bosh provids - we have Wade + Bron for that.

That'd be great but don't you think Bosh's midrange frees up the floor for Wade & Bron to drive to the hole?

I'll panic if we don't win the title this year. Up until then I'm not panicking.

As for your trade Bosh idea--great idea. Let's trade one of the most dynamic PFs in the game just entering his prime, for two players who aren't that good--JUST as DWade starts to get old. Good plan.

Let's see what happens this year and then panic. It's not like you can make trades now anyways. If we win the title all of these threads will look dumb as hell.

Take note of the username/sig guys. This isn't our very own pirate proposing trades that greatly benefit the Heat.

Where do we sign? This isn't an over-reaction to Bosh sucking of late either. I would have made this trade even coming off that series vs. Chicago where Bosh shot like 60%. We're talking 3 legit starters for 1 - while filling in our two weakest positions (PG/C) and getting back a very good PF.

But I don't get it, why would the Rockets do it? Cap reasons? Re-sign Dragic? Just going in a different direction?

That trade is a no brainer. We would be the most complete team in the league if we got that much for Bosh. And I think they offered something like that for Gasol.

With all that said though, if we win the championship, Bosh is staying and it don't matter if he did poorly. Riley is too loyal to make a move. If we lose in the Finals/ECF, Bosh is gone and Riley will say something like future luxury tax issues is the reason. I remember Arison saying he does not want to pay the new luxury tax which is a lot more costly than it was before the new CBA.

lol for us it's a dream trade but i cant see the Rockets biting on it. perhaps Bosh and Miller maybe but i doubt they give up those 3 just for Bosh. keep dreaming though :D

i wouldn't worry too much about that. Gortat can hit the mid-range shot, sure he doesnt have Bosh's range but it will do. when u have 2 real good rebounders (sorry, Bosh isn't good) in there, we will hurt teams with offensive boards on all those contested shots Wade takes in the paint. plus our defense will be monstrous. it's about the bigger picture.

i dont really like this trade.

Dalembert is getting old kinda fast, not impressed with him this season. Scola is not the strong rebounder/defender we need, he's too similar to Bosh but older. and Lowry is over-rated and doesn't really fit with Bron and Wade that well.
We dont need 3 mediocre pieces, we need a good C and a good PF that will fit our needs, that's it.

thinking about it some more, since im afraid we couldnt get Both Farid and Gortat for bosh ( i would love both in our system) another intersting option would be :

Bosh to Phoenix
for
Marcin Gortat (solid + defensive C)
Steve Nash (he wants to play for a contnder, and we really need his BB IQ)

but now we're left with a hole at the PF, so we'll need to flip :
Mario Chalmers + James jones/MM/Battier (one of those 3)
for
Kenneth Faried ( i really like this guy's future)

Im very doubtful the Magic would do that.

But if they were intersted, ill send Bosh + anyobody they want not named Wade or King James. and i would say thank you.
