World Peace - Our dumdumb Bruce Bowen?

Post#1 » by Mamba Venom » Wed Apr 11, 2012 3:39 am

Bowen was always that lock down defender that put up 7 points, 2 assist and 3 boards. Artest's #s look very simular. Artest thinks that he is that lock down defender (he is right about 15% of the time). Artest is suppose to fill that Bowen role for us. He is suppose to play mad D and hit that clutch 3.

So is Artest our dumdumb Bruce Bowen? (I change the word I wanted to use to use a PC word - board etiquette is so different than talking sports w/ buddies) Can Artest fill that role for us when it counts in the play-offs. I mean - he lost the extra weight and he put the work in. Artest looks like he is on roids. Like he is getting ready for the play-offs. Artest/Peace can be a menace. Or is he too dumb to even be our dumdumb Bruce Bowen? In the play-offs is he going to throw the ball to the other team w. 1.9 seconds left or miss the big shot?

kind of a waste of offensive talent to be used just as a bruce bowen

imo, world peace needs the ball in his hands, yes he looks clumsy but he needs to feel important and contributing to the team.

Hes a great defender, hes a much better offensive player than Bowen that's for damn sure. I think he could produce like he did in 2010 for us, well hopefully.

offensively and defensively he is a better player than Bowen!
The problem is that he can't make a three if his life depended on it!

I'd rather him than anyone else on the team guarding Durant, LeBron or Pierce...

So we gotta live with his 3 point shots and his awful free throw percentage.

How does that make you better than the Lin, Gallo, and Wil fans who root for them over NY?

Artest is at his best when he is defended by the smaller SGs because the opposition SF has to check Kobe. Like his game against Courtney Lee, he will post up and make them pay. Bowen never came close to anything offensively other than picking corner 3s off Tony Parker's drives.

Our post game relies on our outside shooting and ron's man doubles off of him so hes a liability hitting the open 3s. when he goes 1-8 i cringe but then he makes some type of defensive play late in the game and all is forgotten :(. His ft's % is better and offensive game is years head of bruce but bruce's corner 3's are more accurate than his. I think we're missing that offensive punch off the bench like a mayo/jr smith. At least give glock some minutes with our post players.

I never understand why so many of Lakersnation is so down on his 3pt ability. He started the season cold as hell but has been shooting well statistically for like the last 20 games or so. He shot 35 percent last year and everyone was crying about how he cant shoot 3's. He is great at it but isnt a horrible by any stretch. He should be more selective but he has been lately though.

Ironic to call someone out on the Internet about spelling and grammar only to use the present perfect and present progressive in the same sentence yourself.

Both made me  (you can turn off Tapatalk signatures btw in the settings of the app).

If MWP can be convinced to focus on defense and learn to knock down the corner 3 like Bruce could at the end of his career, I'm all for it and would keep him around over amnestying him.
