Game Threads

Post#1 » by TruGM » Wed Apr 11, 2012 8:11 pm

To all the mods on here...and users.

I know the baseball season is long, and there are 162 games..but can we have game threads instead of the series threads?

The series threads are getting too big, and you cant figure out when games started and when they finished. We don't need a post-game thread like we have for basketball. But one thread per game.

-wondering what you guys think.

That's a lot of work to make new GTs like everyday. Just edit the thread title showing where the new game discussion starts

This for me too. If the series threads are still 80-100 pages in May do it up. However, I would love, if it's not too much trouble, editing the OP during the series to make the lines where the dates, times, and pitching matchups are into hyperlinks to roughly where discussion of the each game starts. That would be badass and make it easy to read what the board had to say about a particular game without doing the legwork myself.

No biggie, it's not like it's hard to find what I'm looking for on my own, but to me that would be a compromise I'd welcome.

I don't have a problem with the series threads. This forum isn't active enough for daily game threads. There are really only like 10-15 posters in the thread.

Agreed. After the opening series and home opener, things died down. I don't really care either way but I don't think game threads are entirely necessary.

I like the way it is now, Jays lose a series = new thread maker, instead of the confusion of who makes it everyday.

So far LittleOzzy is on a roll , stick with the superstition.

As an aside, this is a nice problem to have.

Just checked the Boston forum page, they have a SEASON thread...

...and it only has 7 posts.

No need, this isn't going to be an issue in a few weeks.

We will take it into consideration if in the future threads continue to be 80+ pages.

I have a feeling like the past 3 or 4 years posting will really drop off in a month or so.
