With that stupid reality show he has with his tubby wife how could anyone have thought that he'd be happy outside of LA? As someone stated above, you could see this coming a mile away. Next seasons he needs to decide if he wants to play in the nba or be an idiot on a reality show.
I caught 10 minutes of his TV show a few months ago and it was one of the most insipid programs I've ever watched on TV. I don't watch reality shows so I'm sure there are many other shows that rival it in its stupidity

When the leader of the team came in out of shape and unmotivated what would anyone expect from a guy that just joined the team? it starts at the top

It even goes higher than that, Mark Cuban has basically written off this season and did not seriously try to form a contender. Instead of focusing on a back to back, the Mavs are set on signing another star next season.
Still doesn't excuse Odom but the Mavs lockerroom looks like a bunch of troubled has-beens and scrubs to me

Odom was garbage most of his career. He always had the potential to be great, but never truly accomplished it until he came to the lakers. I think playing with Kobe probably helped him to get near what his potential could be; but now that's he's no longer there, he's back to being garbage.

Pat Riley loves the guy, and the Miami Heat would be the perfect fit because they would keep his ass in shape and focused. Can't blame all of Dallas' problems on Lamar; the whole team were fat and unmotivated pigs this year.

This is nonsense, coming in Odom was considered as talented of a player as Chandler (though completely different). This team had a chance at contending if he played up to his last year form, they were depending on Odom. You could say that was a stupid approach, and you could say that the Mavs threw the season away by pinning their hopes on Odom, but none of that excuses his BS. He was the number one player who could have influenced our season, because every team he played well this team was on another level. Instead we got 1-7 shooting, 2 TO, and 3 rebounds most nights.
West has outplayed Barea (especially defensively), Roddy as well. Butler didn't play in the playoffs, so the only ones we didn't replace are Peja and Chandler. If the Mavs locker room looks like a bunch of scrubs then they were scrubs last year as well because 70% of the roster is unchanged.
The Mavs were (before last night) 0-7 in games Odom didn't play, which at first sounds crazy until you remember not a single one of his missed games was for a legit reason. It was always a result of a meltdown where he took off unexpectedly for 4 games, or had a tummy ache last second, or got into an argument with the coach. He was not the victim, he was a legitimate cancer. When things were good he made them worse, when they were bad he made them worse again.
Not to blame everything on him, but he does deserve blame.

, make it sound like Spurs never tried to repeat like this Dall team, they just couldn't do it.
i dunno, it seems like they "defend" their championship not try to repeat. its just my speculation that they dont seem to try after winning a chip one season and just rest and try again the next.
2000- year after they won their first, they got knocked out by phoenix in the 1st round
2004- after second title, they got knocked out in 2nd round
2006- after third title, they got knocked out in 2nd round
2008- was their only time they made the WCF after getting a chip.

OT:

Recognizing that Dallas is the primary competition to sign the Nets' superstar, Prokhorov threatened to inflict pain if Cuban convinces Williams, who grew up near Dallas, to play for the Mavs next season.
"Let the best man win," Prokhorov said, joking about his competition with Cuban to sign Williams. "If he wins, I will crush him in a kickboxing throwdown."

Re: Mark Cuban: The organization finally lost patience with
Definitely a sad situation. Lamar's been playing with zero motivation, he should've used that halftime confrontation as a "Your right, I've been playing like garbage and I owe it to my teammates and the fans to play harder" kind of moment and then gone out and had a big 20 point 20 rebound game or at least something better than the garbage games he's been a part of this season.
The ONLY way to alleviate the situation is to play hard and let your game do the talking, unfortunately its probably too late for him, being on the inactive list and all....
If I'm Odom I go to Cuban, admit my shortcomings, apologize for wasting the organizations time and ask for another opportunity, and this time actually play with at least a little bit motivation.

I didn't excuse Odom's behavior, but Mark Cuban did not form a team capabale of a back to back. Instead he broke up the Mavs championship core, and replacing Odom with Chandler just doesn't work since the Mavs need a DPOY intangibles center like Chandler instead of a versatile forward. Chandler is a game changer that fit with the Mavs and is a DPOY candidate center, that outweighs Odom's 6th man of the year impact
And having players like Delonte West, Vince Carter, along with a bunch of inexperienced players does not inspire a lot of confidence especially compared to Chandler's talent, experience, and intangibles. The Mavs veterans like Dirk and Jason Kidd also seemed unprepared for the season. But I definitely agree Odom was a cancer

The fact that the owner is having a personal conflict with the player is telling of the way the Mavs handle their business. It's damn inappropriate the way that Cuban gets involved in the affairs of the Mavs, it undermines their whole front office and coaching staff.
The Mavs have been the most consistent team in the last decade. It got to the point where I theorized that a 50 win season was nothing "above average" for them. Could part of this consistent lacklustre performance be attributed to Cubans meddling in affairs? I think so.
