The bad offense at the end is either on Teague for disappearing or Drew for taking the ball out of his hands. No matter which, we had no PG play at the end, just a "passing game."
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

Did you see Ivan Johnson chuck one at the end of the 2nd?
I missed it.

CLEARLY Drew took the ball out of his hands. They went full on ISO Joe at the end with Joe having the worse matchup on the floor.I do blame Teague for going to josh on the High post against Pierce with 6 seconds left on the shot clock though.

This was expected for me. I have a big question why does Josh and Jeff always find something to argue about? Just don't get it, I don't think Josh trust Jeff but I guess now he should see how most people feel about him. This is your playoff matchup only thing to be decided is who gets home court.

Missed the game because of work; but why in the heck did Josh Smith have only two shots in the paint for the entire game?

Hawks didn't have Horford and were horrible from three, and the Celtics still struggled and had to go to overtime with the Hawks, its pretty bad for the Celtics, especially since it was a home game for Boston.

Josh has had a record of futility getting punked by Boston trying to go inside so he came into the game having spent the last 3 days off working on his jumper to counter this. He was on fire from long 2 hitting every imaginable jumper you could think off, step backs, pullups, off of motion, etc. but he fell in love with them and forgot all about what the paint was.

Really.......this was more embarrassing for Boston? Oldest team on the 2nd night of a back 2 back, streak of 5 games in 7 nights, without Ray Allen, KG fouls out and yet they struggled in a win? Whatever helps you sleep at night, I guess.

The biggest difference between these 2 teams is execution. Garnett had several open shots. We force the issue way too much. Our power foward loves to play PG and shoot long shots, and that's when we start getting in trouble. JJ will always struggle against the Celtics because their help defense is very active. So, we need other players to step up. Zaza is a non factor down below, Smith can't post Garnett, we pretty much are left with Hinrich who can't hit a shot to save his life and Teague who's not a reliable shooter. I hope that somehow we avoid the Celtics in the 1st round, they are not that much better than us, but they execute their plan to perfection knowing where they can hurt you.
GO HAWKS.

of course, Hawks were missing alot of wide open 3s and that is something that doesn't happen often at all. in a series, the Hawks are not going to have multiple bad shooting games.

That...is a weird thing to predict/guarantee.
We had multiple bad shooting games in both playoff series last year.
Last night vs Boston we shot:
41% FG 10% 3ptFG
Last year's playoffs vs Orlando we shot:
Game 2 - 39.5% FG 35% 3ptFG
Game 5 - 36.2% FG 25% 3ptFG
Last year's playoffs vs CHI we shot:
Game 2 - 33.8% FG 23% 3ptFG
Game 6 - 36.5% FG 9% 3ptFG
Against BOS, which is shaping up to be one of the better defensive teams since the All Star break, I think we should expect to have a few poor shooting games should we meet in the playoffs.

Quick question:
If Hawks end up with a better record and becomes the 4th seed while Celtics stays the 5th seed but winning the Atlantic Division, who gets the homecourt advantage in the first round?

Re: Atlanta vs. Boston. Wednesday 4/11/12. 8:00 PM
Micheal Cunningham at the AJC has already confirmed that best record gets homecourt advantage in the playoffs. The link is below.

I’ve maintained all along that the Hawks would get home-court advantage if that’s the way they finish but the questions persist. So, to put it to rest once and for all, I e-mailed NBA spokesman Tim Frank. His reply:
“Better record always gets home court.”
There it is, plainly stated. The Hawks would get home-court advantage as the No. 5 seed if their record is better than a division winner with a worst record. As it stands now, that means the Hawks would play host to the Celtics in the first round even though the Celtics would have the better seed.
