Embarassing. These guys look like 120 lbs soaking wet. Lots of mouthy kids out these days.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Well, if you really wanna know, that's me standing there in the grey hoody with the glasses on lol. Near the beginning of that clip you see me pointing in disbelief as one of these guys is being literally kicked down the stairs. The guys in the row behind us were very drunk, pouring beer on themselves, and not really paying much attention to the game. The guys in the row in front (the dude in the black t-shirt who got sucker punched) were very quiet throughout the game. Then came the 9th inning when Santos blew the save. The guy in the black t-shirt was wearing a Jays shirt, and then took it off and started cheering for the BoSox. The front of his black t-shirt had the BoSox logo on it. We kinda all took exception to that (us in a nice way, the drunken idiots behind us not so much). They started calling him a "fa**ot" (which didn't really make much sense because they were all talking about their dicks throughout the entire game), and threw their Jay's rally towels at him. The guy in the black t-shirt then got up and challenged them to a fight. The drunken dudes were scared and then shut up. The Jays came up in the bottom of the 9th, and scenario then repeated itself again, and the fight ensued. You see me then grabbing the guy in the black t-shirt telling him to calm down (which he did), and you then see him sucker punched by some douche who wasn't even part of the original skirmish.

Security was so lax I couldn't believe it. There were many of these fights breaking out all over the stadium. There was a huge one down in the 100 level just beyond 1st base mid way up through the stands. I've been to Giants stadium, Lincoln Financial, Ralph Wilson, and any hint of a possible dust up coming in the stands, you were escorted out of the building no questions asked. I think the alcohol restriction merely served to fuel people's general hostilities. The lineups were soooo long that you arrived back to stands fairly agitated by the situation and the fact you missed a couple of innings trying to get a beverage. And as was the case with the guys behind us, they already arrived drunk to the game obviously knowing the restriction existed.

Anyway, it was such a big joke and very disappointing. And yes there was a family with two kids who must have been 5 or 6 years old two rows in front of this witnessing this crap. I felt bad for them.

Are their family-friendly sections at Rogers Centre?

I've gone to a few games in the last couple of years and every time I've gone the language and behaviour has been absurd. I'd definitely think twice about taking my kid.

Been to games in Dunedin, Vancouver, Syracuse in the past year and nothing like this. I don't mind taunting players or having a beer and a good time, however, some boys go just to beat their chest and be douchie. Takes away from the enjoyment of the game.

Thanks for the perspective on the situation.

You did manage to distract that dude which opened him up for the sucker punch though. Good of you to try to intervene though.

So they limit beer sales to people and didn't beef up security? That whole 500 section should've had extra security.

I think it has become sort of common knowledge among young guys in the city that if you want to get drunk and act like an idiot then the place to go is a Jays game. It's just not opening day where these things happen because they tend to happen when Red Sox and Yankee fans fill the building.

There used to be alcohol free sections in the past but not sure about now.

I was sitting in an alcohol free section on opening day. There were zero conflicts in our section but there was a scuffle only two sections over.

i've heard the supposed benefits of sitting amongst "the true fans" in the 500s. cheaper tix = more money on beer or more games attended, more spirited crowds, better view of the field (for some), easier to drink liquor you've smuggled in, etc. while i don't mind it most of the time, it is guaranteed that there will be that one obnoxious moron who throws popcorn and peanuts at random fans in the rows below or yells lame obscenities at players (as if they'll hear them) for 9 innings straight...this is their idea of enjoying a baseball game and it's much more apparent in the nosebleeds.

sometimes it's just better to shell out the extra dough for a seat in the 100/200 level outfield (or get a hook up, of course) and be able to enjoy baseball itself and not have to put up with the lewdness largely found in the upper bowl.

Thankfully, I've never had problems with fans in the 500s and they were well-behaved on Saturday against the Sox... I mean I'm about as hardcore as you'll get at wilding out/getting rowdy at games, but it's personally puzzling how this **** is at-all appealing. F'n losers.

I was in the 100s just behind 3rd base and it was largely the same. Although to be honest I found it all very amusing. No fights or anything - just a lot of guys trying to taunt the BoSox 3rd base coach. The only thing is, when you're in the 100 level and relatively close to the field, the players can in fact hear you, so it makes things more entertaining.

Speaking about engaging the opponent, did anyone read about Francouer buying 20 pizzas for the Oakland fans in the Outfield bleachers?

A member of the visiting clubhouse staff brought the pizzas to the fans in the first inning during the finale of a three-game series. With the free eats came a signed bat from Francoeur and a note: “Right field bleacher crew, keep making bacon.”

The crowd oohed and aahed, clapped, hollered and repeatedly chanted, “Thank you, Jeff!” as he took his position in the bottom of the inning. Francoeur tipped his cap and waved.

“Baseball is fun. We can take it too serious sometimes,” Francoeur said before the game. “This is something more than just baseball. That right-field section are here every game, they cheer for every (A’s player). They are diehards. I just enjoy them out there. It’s a lot of fun. You don’t get to build relationships like that every day.”

There were 3 fights in the 100 sections 1 at the 129 section and 1 across the 115 section and one that was stopped by the police before any punches were thrown again by 130 section towards the end of the game. I could only imagine what happen on the 500 level. smh! The fight in section 129 the guy was a Sox fan.
