With this tough season should LBJ & Wade play in Olympics ?

With such a work load this season i think LeBron & Wade should pass up Olympics so they can have a well rested summer and recuperate be ready for next season.

The thing about the Olympics, they won't be playing 40 mins each. They will have All-Star players next to them. Our sucky ass supporting cast isn't going to be with them.

True about our supporting cast but still LeBron & Wade playing will take a toll on them even if they were to play only 20 minutes a game or less and risk injury. We need all the rest we can get for a healthy next season. The olympic games have been more competitive & physical too like the Spain game for the gold i would not want to risk them rather them rest on a beach in Bora Bora or something

Not concerned about the Olympics right now to be honest, just want us to get a damn championship. :lol:

Very concerned with how these guys will hold up in the playoffs, with a garbage ass bench.

It's not just the Heat players that will be exhausted. Most of the TEAM USA players are also on playoff teams and will also be tired after this condensed season. If Kobe can handle it I'm sure the Heat players can too. It's up to the olympic coaching staff to make sure minutes are spread around. It's a way for the players to work on their games while hopefully not getting more than 20 minutes of PT during the games.

Let's be real here, the team USA will coast until the Finals. They won't exert as much energy as we think.

Durant alone could kill all the other teams with his shooting. He did it in the FIBA Finals, because Europeans suck at defense (Euro league players, most of them).

I'm not worried about team USA or our players at the Olympics at all. Everyone will be fine.

True but im not worried about the other guys im worried about our guys the physical beatdown they are taking this season. Even if they only played 5 minutes a game in Olympics which i doubt they will is a risk of injury and rather them rest for next season. Its just being cautious for next season because if we do not have one of them next season if something was to happen we would be more in a hole than we are this season.

The Olympics won't be physical... especially in the 1st rounds lol. When it gets near the end and the Finals, then it will be.

True but why even take a risk when the guys could be resting especially LeBron & Wade ? I am just thinking to have a healthy next season RISK FREE. THIS SEASON HAS TAKEN A TOLL ON BOTH I THINK THEY WILL NEED ALL THE REST THEY CAN GET SO WE CAN HAVE THEM AT 100% NEXT SEASON OR CLOSEST TO THAT.

I don't mind them playing as long as they're bench players. Even Kobe is entering as a closer role only.

I know what you mean. But this is going to be like a leisure activity for Team USA besides the excitement of traveling and talking to all the press and whatnot. It's like, it's not going to be one person who will be depended on. Team USA is STACKED. Our guys would probably start, or off the bench, and until the final rounds/Finals, the 3rd string of whoever will finish off those games lol.

I want them healthy has much as anyone, but again, they won't be playing hard or physical. Even if they played physical, it will never be as hard as it is in the NBA.

We all know LeBron they will want him in a starting role unless they use KD or Melo which i doubt but who knows anything is possible. Even if it was playing against kids i would not want to risk injury our guys need rest from this brutal season. Imagine a situation where one of them gets hurt what will be of our team next season ? ITS RISKY. I know Mark Cuban last olympics was against Dirk and others from his team to play for that same reason INJURY RISK never want to lose your best assets when you have all riding on them.

They know very well they can get injured. Though I don't remember the last time someone had a career injury at the Olympics for our team or for Wade/LBJ. This is without looking anything up just off the top of my head though.

One thing i remember from last olympics was that weightlifter lol wow that was brutal does not have anything to do with the Heat or bball but wow the way his arm & shoulder popped out you can see it on youtube if you have not seen it.

I want them playing just for the interaction with competent coaches. I bet in the few weeks our trio are there they will lean more about how to play together than they have in the two years here under our "coaches"

lol true about some coaches i would only want them with coach K & McMillan who i sugessted could be a coach for the Heat. D''Antoni no one wants anymore lol and Jim Boheim with his zone defenses are too soft.

It's fine if Bosh and LBJ play in it, but Wade is pretty much too old to do the olympics plus playoffs this year, and I hope he bows out. I doubt Kobe does it either.

Leave it to young guys like Lebron, Durant, and Rose.

The olympics for Wade/Lebron will be 3 15 minutes practices in the first round, then I don't think Lebron will play over 30 and Wade 25, given they'll have pretty decent subs (and Wade shouldn't start), so I don't think it will have any physical consequences, barring injuries.
And I don't see how you can ask a player to miss on the Olympics (unless he's asking to get paid lol)

Well look at it this way say you are the owner of the Heat and you pay LeBron $18,000,000.00 dollars a year and he goes gets injured in the Olympics how would you feel that you still have to pay him and he cannot play for you for certain amount of time or the whole upcoming season since he got injured ? LeBron is your top asset now if we lose him due to an injury what will be of the team next season ? Now we are struggling as is with him imagine without. TOO RISKY! We lose any of the big 3 would be kaos next season unless we can pull trade for Bosh or something amnesty Miller pick up a rebounding true BIG. Bosh played well last night had a decent game but i still would trade him make a package deal or get a third team involved for a DOMINANT BIG (Dwight).

You're right, but it's the same issue with all professional athletes who compete in the Olympics or any other international competition.
If you're Riley or Arison can you go to Lebron and ask him not to go? I don't think they'd even try, and I don't think Lebron would agree either (or if he would that would be reluctantly), and as he can be a FA in 2 years I don't think they'll risk that.

Outside of the fact that playing for your nation in the Olympics is one of the biggest honor as an athlete, whether pro or amateur, but for the big names like Lebron it's also a way to expand their brand to a much bigger audience, and we all know how much they care about that.
