Re: Around the NBA
A healthy Bogut is a game changer for the Clippers, but obviously we haven't seen that in a while. After trading Monta for Bogut, and tanking this season, Golden State doesn't need to trade Bogut, or go into full tank mode. Thompson is looking good. When healthy, their team becomes:
PG: Stephen Curry
SG: Klay Thompson
SF: Draft Pick
PF: David Lee
C: Andrew Bogut
Bench: Dorell Wright, Richard Jefferson, Andris Biedrins, (Brandon Rush - RFA)
Realistically, that's actually a nice lineup that has a good mixture of young and old players, is balanced, and you also have some solid bench players. If they hadn't been dumb with their amnesty, they could've amnestied Biedrins. RJ and Biedrins make so much that they are basically invested in them, so if one wants to target a Warriors player, Dorell Wright as a backup SF could be a guy to target. The other option would be Brandon Rush. There's no logic in them keeping RJ, Rush, and Wright. Both Rush and Wright can spread the floor and hit a lot of three's, but both generally have disappointing defense.
I'm making the assumption that they will draft a SF, but it depends on where they land in the draft also.
PS. It's really sad how much Biedrins has dropped off. In 07-08 and 08-09, this guy was basically a 13-14 PPG, 12-13 RPG, 1 SPG, ~2 BPG big man showed good finishing skills, was aggressive, and shot 62% and 55% from the line. Now he's declined in almost every area of basketball. His rebounds were helped a little by their small ball, so realistically he's more of a 10-11 RPG guy, but it's like the injury and then poor FT shooting after killed all of his confidence.

I wouldn't trust our medical staff with Bogut, never in a million years.

Re: Around the NBA
That Mobley situation was slightly embarrassing, but I don't think Bogut will be an option.
An unlikely but great off-season move would be to get the hated Kevin Garnett. He's probably out of the Clippers price range, and who knows if he has any sort of interest in coming to LAC, but that would actually be a very smart move.
KG has now shown that he can play C this season, and he can obviously still play PF. He's a great pick and pop guy, and a great defender and defensive orchestrator. He can teach both Blake and DJ a thing or two about defense. He will cause the Clippers to be hated a lot though, even more than has been so before, but if it brings a championship, one can't complain.
PF: Blake (36 MPG) | KG (12 MPG)
C: DJ (30-32 MPG) | KG (16-18 MPG)
That's one of the best big man rotations in the league. KG comes off the bench, but plays 28-30 MPG. If he doesn't want to come off the bench, start him, but bring DJ early and still have both him and DJ playing ~30 MPG except that DJ comes off the bench. That is actually the type of move that will make the Clippers a contender more so than anything else I can think of.
In this scenario, one is hoping for Mo to opt out, or to trade him. You re-sign Randy Foye, and get a defensive SG/SF, and you can decide whether or not to re-sign Young.
Chris Paul / Eric Bledsoe
Defensive SG/SF / Randy Foye
Caron Butler / Defensive SG/SF / Simmons
Blake Griffin / Kevin Garnett
DeAndre Jordan / Kevin Garnett
Actually, just go sign Ray Allen as he's capable of playing good defense. Basically one just steals the Celtics players and becomes a modified version of the championship Celtics teams, haha. Anyways, just a fun idea to think of, though not very likely.

Re: Around the NBA
At least until KG and/or Ray Allen (Nick Young re-signed on a veteran team like this also works) can't move anymore basketball wise, it will be a high level contending team, so 2 years, maybe 3 at best, then one hopes that KG would teach Blake, DJ and maybe even Thompkins a few things about defense. This kind of team would probably encourage Paul to re-sign long term.
Then you just have to be very serious about scouting and make great use of the late 1st round and also second round picks you get those years. Like I said though, one probably should have much lower expectations.

O and G are the first two letters of my name, but it's also a play on Original Gangsta.

Spurs just helped us out by beating the Grizzlies
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

In a perfect world, any of Dallas, Denver, and Houston would be ideal.

So essentially, your banking on winning the division? I mean it really appears that anything can happen between 6-8 but Memphis/Clippers/Lakers are a lock at 4 and five.

Re: Around the NBA
still hoping we pass the fakers.
we need spurs/okc to win 2/3 at worse. 3 preferable.
looking at our record at worse we got 4/3 in next 7 games. but preferable we got better

Preferably I'd like to play Dallas and avoid Memphis if we can. However I won't complain too much because since I've been a Clippers fan I've only experienced one playoff run.

Re: Around the NBA
lacker's schedule isn't any easier neither though.
dallas, SA x2 and OKC.
We only have OKC to worry about, everyone else should be a win with SOLID play. I can see us 5-2 at the least to close out.

We're definitely hoping for the 3 spot, because everybody wants to avoid Memphis for as long as possible. I think we can beat them if we have to face them, but home court advantage would be a must. Even then, it's far from guaranteed. It sounds very simple, but the team's success is directly tied to their effort. If we're actually trying on defense and putting forth a conscious effort to pull down some boards, then we have a chance against anybody imo. In addition to those things, we just need somebody to hit some shots and make the defenses honest.

Yeah I remember it like it was yesterday, Livingston shutting Nash down on the perimeter. Ironically enough that was right before you two came aboard.
