Regardless, the setup was always that Joe and Gavin ran the Kings and George ran the Palms.
I'm not saying George doesn't pull the strings. I'm just saying we have no way of knowing that.

Re: Sacramento wants new Kings ownership
Its simpler than that
This is a five vote situation where Joe and Gavin are the "2" side of the 3-2 vote. George, mama and Colleen are pissed and want their LA/Vegas/billionaire lifestyle back - despite the fact that George is the reason that the money is gone in the first place.

rpa wrote:So what do the Maloofs want? I think it's pretty clear they want 1 of 2 things:
1) They want a revenue generating entity like the Lakers, Clippers, Knicks, etc. that will pull in tens of millions of dollars worth of profit every year. They can then use these future earnings (and the team--whose value would skyrocket) as leverage for other business interests.
2) They want to pump up the value of the team and sell it for a huge gain, and then use that money for other business interests.
My feeling is their primary goal is (1), but (2) is plan B.
Very logical speculations, and I'd have to agree on both accounts. I think they definitely want the Kings as a revenue generating business, yet they don't want to spend any money. But isn't the best avenue towards building up the value of a team is to put a winning product on the floor to regain the fans / make new ones? The fans are the ones that buy tickets and merchandise and are literally THE REVENUE.
I'm just not understanding the Magoofs' logic in this whole situation. But then again, they did run all of their other businesses into the ground.
