Friday the 13th, not sure how that went. I'll find the results later today.

Culture here is heavily superstitious about luck and bad luck. I went to a fortune teller in February. Basically told me the next 3 years will be rough, but after that it'll get better. Recently, my father told me I need to see some psychic guru and have him pray for me every day because I'll have 3 years of bad luck coming up.

I'm just **** it. I don't believe in that **** and if I get bad luck what else is new?

if you don't believe in bad luck, then you really can't believe in good luck either- its a two way street

i'd say just hang it all, do what you want and play as much pokemon as you can

I can tell you what I believe. I believe in making my own luck and putting myself in the position to get lucky. ;)

I believe there's bad luck, but that's just because of me deciding my fate.

But to tell me I will have 3 years of bad luck coming up based on the year I was born and some other stuff I have yet to figure out does not make sense to me.

I did that for 4 or 5 years already. It was nice. Lonely, but nice.

Can't recall if I ever told this story here. Years ago in Orange County, I got my best friend (who's black) a room for rent in a Vietnamese condo in Little Saigon area. He was starting a fresh new life after things didn't work out too well for him in Silicon Valley.
The Vietnamese old lady that owned the condo rented out one room, and 4 sleeping cots in the living room to Vietnamese men. It's ideal for Vietnamese who are just coming to the US, working at a minimal paying job making more that they are use to in one month than they do in a whole year in Vietnam.
It took some convincing but with the help of my aunts, I was able to convince the nice old Vietnamese lady to rent a room to a black man.

After a month of settling in, my friend told me he was going out one nice and he was walking into the dark living room. He saw one guy sitting indian style on his cot rubbing one down like a jack rabbit, and staring straight at him. My friend got freaked out and left.
When my friend came back home, he saw the same guy sitting on his bed, holding his right hand to his right eye saying, "đau khổ! đau khổ!"
I had to translate to that the guy said, "It hurts! It hurts!"
