If Rytas can just get a little hot behind the arc, they have a chance. As crazy as it seems with how this game has gone!

Who would have thought that Babrauskas suddenly would decide to play and hit shots?

Too bad that Rytas defense is bad. They cannot defend all that well. Its more if oppoenents miss we might win, if not - we are done for. Djikic is a pretty awful coach.

It was a very bad idea to let Kurtinaitis go ...

I don't think the coach could do anything about JV getting all those cheap fouls. Rytas just had a lot less depth and were relying heavily on an over-excited teenager.

But a real good coach wont let the team to be heavily dedending on just one player. Sure one might not be as gifted but you can do a lot if you defend well and play with discipline.

Thats how it was with the former Rytas coach kurtinaitis. And thats how it isnt with Djikic. Neither defense nor discipline is here.

And Kurtiniatis did not care much about passport. He let young players play if they played well. Jonas got more minutes with him as 17 year old than he did with Trifunovic one season later as 18 year old.

Djikic while obviously cannot sit Jonas on the bench, he does still not use the Redikas, Dilys properly (I dont think Dambrauskas has anything worth in him) and more often. Young players can be jsut as good as old ones as long as you keep them under discipline on both sides of the court and make them work hard on D.

Redikas if anything is one of the better Rytas perimeter defender. He is also onas teammate in that youth team and one of its better players (he was usually defending opponent leaders), yet Djikic seems to not be able to use that for his and teams favour.

Valanciunas with choke 5 fouls in 8 minutes, this will be a shocker and valuable experience for him, those silly offensive fouls are killing him. Defensively, he did not get any foul by trying to contest or block a shot, just running into guys with his body.
Val has a tendency to just run into the driving guard if they switch after the screen, he should learn to separate himself from the defender and use his length to block a shot instead like Anthony Davis does.

Zalgirs has more fans than Rytas, so it doesn't surprise me that Valanciunas has that many haters.

Oh he has. Most come from Zalgiris though. And they didnt get a chance to bark all that much this season as Jonas was playing good. But he did screw up in this game and the haters have the chance to bark now and they do, because who knows when they will get such chance again.

Offensive fouls? 1st one bumped the guard off the switch, 2nd one a light nudge in the back going for a rebound, 3rd one reaching in on a trap, 4th one "tangled" up with the opposing C on defense, 5th one had a hand on a player on the perimeter. 5 cheapies. Says way more about the referees than it does JV. He's a physical C and those guys pick up fouls. Usually, like almost always, refs allow a certain degree of physicality. You might see 2 or 3 cheapies on a bad day, but rarely 5.

What are the haters saying? I totally missed the game, but it looks like this was one of his worst games based on the boxscore.

The usual stuff. Overvalued, advertising product, empty place, a chucker, has no talent whatsoever, ban him from Lithuanian NT and stuff like that. Thats Zalgiris fans mostly though so it shouldnt be taken seriously as they hate every Rytas player.

Yeah, trolls like nelabai, shouldn't be taken seriously. The refs took Jonas out of the game (literally), and that destroyed Rytas game.

Valencia won pretty easily. JV was awful and fouled out in the 3rd quarter. The refs called it really tight and there wasn't much of a game.

A lot of Lithuanian fans has terrible basketball IQ. I only read whats on facebook, but there are enough of idiots there. How can someone call Jonas a chucker? His FG and TS are at over 60 % and 70%, and he has 2 points per shot.
He is probably the best Lithuanian player already, how can say ban him from NT? His D is legit and his offense is beyond efficient. Tell me a more complete Lithuanian player...
What bugs me the most, those haters are usually in love with Donut, who is opposite to VAL, is just a terrible. I dont know how they watch basketball games.
