He is probably the best Lithuanian player already, how can say ban him from NT? His D is legit and his offense is beyond efficient. Tell me a more complete Lithuanian player...
What bugs me the most, those haters are usually in love with Donut, who is opposite to VAL, is just a terrible. I dont know how they watch basketball games.

Well you see Donut is not playing for Rytas, the vast majority of blind haters are Zalgiris fans, whose rival is Rytas. I can guarantee you, as soon as Jonas comes to the NBA the haters from Zalgiris will disappear.
I follow the lithuanian news closely and it is actually getting ridiculous, when asked about Jonas progress during the season, lithuanian basketball experts(majority of whom are former Zalgiris players) start talking about how he hasn't progressed much and that his game isn't stable, and I'm just thinking, he was in contention for MVP award on 2 international leagues, and was one of the most efficient players, while having virtually no plays run for him.
And then it gets even more ridiculous, when his former coach(former Zalgiris player of course) was asked about Jonas progress, he said that Jonas can't control his emotions and gets too many technicals(I have only seen him get a technical once this season, and I have watched almost every Rytas game this season) and then he says, I'm kdding you not, that Jonas growing a beard shows that basketball is not his priority.

Nah, they will hold this grudge forever. Once Rytas player, always Rytas player.

It is mainly about hype I think. A lot of people cant see how good he really is, they seem to care only about per game numbers. They think he is way overhyped. Everyone is talking about Jonas everywhere, it is really kinda over the top, but at the end, he is worth it, he is huge talent, best there is.

Valencia won pretty easily. JV was awful and fouled out in the 3rd quarter. The refs called it really tight and there wasn't much of a game.

so now, is this best-of-3 series?? Big V awful? more awful than Rice?

Well Jasikevicius, Macijauskas, Siskauskas are exceptions.

Jonas fouled out in 8 minutes. It was like his worst game ever. Rice got injured. It was one game series, semi, and they lost it, play for meaningless 3rd. place tomorrow.

P.S. Macijauskas is not exception. A lot of guys hated him. But he never was likable guy, flopper, whiner...

Basically inconsistent refereeing killed his game.

Someone needs to show Jonas this video to cheer him up

lol...Jonas fouled out in a Eurocup game in 8 min of play for himself....discipline and timing kid....discipline. It was a 10 point loss for his team. If he stayed in the game, Rytas wins easily...can't really blame refs when you put your self in scenarios that are likely to yield foul shots against you.

Just out of curiosity, how did the nickname "Big V" came into fruition? Does the media call him that or is it just with realgm folks?

no i haven't, i slept in this morning. regardless i think its a complete cop out to blame the refs for a poor performance by Rytas as a team and a poor performance by Jonas. He had a bad game, made bad decisions. Does that make him a bust? Of course not. He has a strong resume. But in the context of this game, i think its fair to analyze and question his decision making, spacing on the floor, and post position as all of those things combined had an impact on his ability to stay out of foul trouble. Just because the Raptors organization is depending on this kid to become the heart of this team, it doesn't mean that we should be willfully blind of any weakness in his makeup as a player and a rookie. He's learning, going through the motions and it's better he makes more of those mistakes there than he does here although that's inevitable.

Its the media, Toronto sun and such. Big V is just the most generic nickname you can get, RealGM does not call him Big V that much

It's fair if you watched the game.
