Re: The Tank 11'12 thread.
If we end up tied for 7th and some team jumps us to the top #3, pushing us down the ladder to #8 do we lose the draft pick to Utah or is it only contingent on finishing bottom 7 in the standings?
Also in the event of a tie for 7th, what happens if nobody jumps over us, we fail to jump to the top 3 and the tie at 7th is broken with a coin flip, causing us to pick 8th. Do we lose the pick to Utah?
All of these possibilities sound very GSW-ish.

Re: The Tank 11'12 thread.
Rodney **** Stuckey missed two damn freethrows at the end of the game that would have gave Det the W. Instead Rose hits a game tieing three to seal the deal in OT. Damn u stuckey.
Atleast Tor won.Whooohoooo. Sac also won giving them 20 wins only 2 back.

Yes. The chance of losing the pick if we get the 7th spot is 25%.

Warriors lose the pick if they get pushed down to 8, it doesnt matter where they finish. I definitely have a bad feeling about this because this franchise is no stranger to having things go terribly wrong for them.

Re: The Tank 11'12 thread.
Toronto won, but Detroit lost in OT. Cavs also lost.
Hornets got Gordon back and won against a tough Memphis squad, so that gives me some hope about our matchup with them.
CLE: @Detroit, Philadelphia, NY Knicks, @San Antonio, @Memphis, Washington, @Chicago
NJN: Miami, NY Knicks @Milwaukee, Philadelphia, @Toronto
TOR: Atlanta, @Miami, @Detroit, @Milwaukee, New Jersey
DET: Cleveland, @Atlanta, Minnesota, Toronto, @Indiana, Philadelphia
Blue is games that are likely wins. Green is a game where one of the 5-8 win teams MUST win.
We *almost* control our own destiny. If we lose out one of NJN/TOR has to pass us, and DET has to lose out to not pass us, which means CLE has another win at a minimum.
GSW: San Antonio, Los Angeles, Dallas, @Houston, @Minnesota, New Orleans, San Antonio
If the blue games are wins, and the green games go to the home teams, and the rest are losses, it will look like this:
That would mean we have to lose all our remaining games to be in the top 7 for sure (coin flip for 6/7). If we win one game it will be a coin flip for 7/8.
Of course, that's just going into the lottery. After that the ping pong balls decide. Specifically, the ones Stern put water in.

You actually think Tom Benson who already owns the NO Saints was so stupid he did not even bother to check out the Hornets before plunking down $338 million to buy the team?

TIEBREAKER BASIS:
(-) Tie breaker not needed (better overall winning percentage)
(1) Division leader wins tie from team not leading a division
(2) Head-to-head won-lost percentage
(3) Conference won-lost percentage
(4) W-L Percentage vs. Playoff teams, own conference
(5) W-L Percentage vs. Playoff teams, other conference
(6) Net Points, all games

Isn't it ironic that Gordon comes back at the same time this is happening. I'm sure he's looking for a max contract

Re: The Tank 11'12 thread.
I think those are tiebreakers for playoff seeding. For lotto position, it's always been just a coin flip. Then the lotto ball possibilities are adjusted to make the odds for the two teams as even as possible. If there are an odd number of lotto combos to divide, the coin flip winner gets the extra combination.

Another good day for the tank. Raps doing it for us, Stuckey the toss stuffed it. Kings still a chance to pass us, only two wins away. Cavs also maybe going to pass us

One thing that aids us is our 3 games in a row. This is what I would do in the first game of the 3 in a row:
Jenkins 38 mins
Klay 42 mins
Wright 42 mins
Tyler 38 mins
Biedrins 42 mins
They will be too burned out for the next two games, and Biedrins is a huge court negative.

Afflalo just got $8M, so it wouldn't surprise me to see Gordon get at least $10M.

As the HC, I would sit anyone not passing to AB for ISO play every possession.
