If he could have kept his nose clean we probably would have won some championships in the 90's

Wow, that could have been a possibility. Richard had some incredible games on both sides of the court. The only problem we had in the nineties, was after the 92-93 season, where we just dumped the ball into Barkley and we either lived or died through him. Often, while a bit injured, we died through him.

This clips brings back some nice memories. I was 11 years old kid from Serbia who has just begun following NBA, felt in love with the Suns and was rooting for them in the first round of the playoffs against my legendary fellow countryman Vlade Divac and his Lakers.

Re: Old memories: Richard Dumas
He definitely could have been special, and it's frustrating to think about. Cool article I found online, and I posted some quotables below:
http://www.hardwoodparoxysm.com/2011/08/31/the-lost-season-richard-dumas-92-93/
“My greatest moment in basketball? That’s easy. Game 5 of the Finals,” Dumas recalls. “I blocked Michael Jordan’s shot and then took it to the other end and got a dunk. Jordan said I fouled him. There was no foul.”
“From junior high on, I don’t think Richard ever played a game when he wasn’t under the influence of something,” said Suns coach Paul Westphal. “He thought playing high made him better, and that he couldn’t play unless he used something.”
Several of SI’s panelists answered this week’s question — who is this season’s most surprising rookie?– with a question of their own:“That Richard Dumas guy,” they asked. “Is he a rookie?”
Richard Dumas is bemused when he hears the description of himself as Julius Erving with a jump shot. “I really don’t think about it,” the Phoenix Suns’ rookie forward said. “It’s nice to have people think of my ability that way. But I just go out there. I have my own style of play. It’s the type of style where you don’t know what I’m going to do. Because I don’t.”
Suns.com: At this point in your life, do you believe all of your demons are behind you?
Dumas: It's going good, but I keep all that to myself. It's easier showing people than trying to tell them. That's what I'm trying to do right now."

Re: Old memories: Richard Dumas
I met Dumas in Poland, late in his career. He played some games for Pruszkow, at the moment 2nd top team in the country. Once, we meet one day before very important game, at TGI Fridays. Poor, intoxicated, smoking a lot of cigarettes, drinking vodka. a shadow of a great player. Very aggresive, angry, sitting alone, not with teammates. Total misery.
On the court, in Poland, he just was strong enough for 3-5 minutes of real basketball, but in this time he was maybe a 10% of real Dumas. But he still jumped to the roof.
He was cut after some games, if I remember well...

4 of 5 games was against really bad teams. At the moment, in Poland were 3-4 good teams and a lot of low level ones.
2nd link works fine for me.

Re: Old memories: Richard Dumas
I'll never forget when my friend and co-worker Tamika invited me over for her small birthday party (I believe it was 93ish) and she neglegted to mention that her cousin was Richard Dumas and I got to smoke a blunt with him. So sad he and Big O couldnt control themselves long enough to have a basketball career both of those young men were loaded with talent. Seriously just for a moment try to imagine if Oliver Miller was on the Steve Nash diet with supervision for a full year with his talent level how good he could have been.
The guy was one of the best passing big men ive ever seen but he couldnt pass up a cheeseburger to save his mothers life unfortunately.
