Lebron is playing for the MVP title

Post#1 » by Vertical Limit » Tue Apr 17, 2012 1:55 am

I think Spoelstra would have given Lebron his rest/days off already, but Lebron knows he's battling only Durant right now for the MVP.

This is the only reason I can come up with that Spo hasn't been able to sit Lebron down, Lebron wants the MVP and will not rest till maybe the final game of the season.

Oh well.

At this stage, I say just go for it - there are only 6 games left anyway. I really think Lebron wants it.

Only two games back from the Bulls and we play them again. We can still end up with home court throughout, I say go for it.

If we get locked into a seed at the end then rest everyone.

Go for it. Might as well turn it on now before the playoffs rather than during. But I would recommend resting some starters for the Toronto game

Don't get injured, please win a ring. Last few MVPs didn't even make the finals, might be a curse :(

Go for it. I want him to win it, he deserves it for how well he has played so far this season. Although his season lost the 'historical edge' to it in terms of PER, who would be able to pass Michael Jordan's stats? That should not be a knock on LBJ, just a testament to how good Jordan was. The fact that he was above it at one point, and still has a higher ranking than Durant even after falling below Jordan, just shows how good LBJ was this season regardless.

Please though, LeBron. If you win your MVP, TAKE OVER IN THE PLAY OFFS AND IN THE FINALS! Can y'all imagine the GB reactions if LBJ wins his 3rd MVP and puts up another Finals performance like that or if we get knocked out by the Bulls? It would be Troll Central, much worse than it was after the 2011 Finals.

I don't see how he's not the MVP clear favorite I really don't. He is called upon to do so much more than Durant. He scores, facilitates, defends, rebounds, he does everything. Durant is just a great scorer. His defense is ok, but he can't go out there and defend every position on the floor. LeBron love to do that and does so without hesitation. I want to see Durant go out and try to box out and guard Pau Gasol, and then go out in the 4th and shut down D-Rose, and then come in and slow down an insanely hot shooting Melo. He can't do all of that. Let alone do all of that, score, rebound the ball, and basically run the offense. Sorry but LeBron is the clear MVP.

My rant is over.

He would've totally done it if Spo wouldn't have yanked him from the post so Spo can have a freaking point guard

Oh And Lebron already matched MJ's highest Per Season.

But Lebron is number 2 in per all time career wise so whatever.

i know but in recent years stretching all the way back to duncan in 03 the MVP has never won the title with kobe being the only one that has reached the finals in 08, i believe

He'll break it. If you consider the MVPs during that stretch too, you'll notice those players really weren't all that.

The way the Heat are playing, it's a 2nd round exit waiting to happen. Needing Lebron's heroics to beat a Nets team missing Deron, Gerald Wallace and Lopez ... pathetic.

I don't think that's why he's playing. I think he's playing because we're in a rough patch and the last time a coach gave him time off before the playoffs the whole elbow gate thing happened and he got knocked out of the second round.

I'm fine with him playing. Just watch his minutes. Thought Spo did a good job not playing him until the five minute mark of the fourth. glad the game didn't go to OT though.

Harden and Westbrook Ibaka can win without Durant. Durant has to be a prince because James is a King. 11-1 when Wade is not playing. A force on offense, Defense, transition, setting others up, motivational, polarizing; its a wrap. Lebron could sit out the remaining games and still win.
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

Lebron is the clear MVP, but the problem is tat the media is looking for ANYTHING to give it to Durant. I wouldnt be surprised if Durant ends up winning it anyways, rest or no rest. The media IS that biased against Lebron and the Heat.
