Silas vs Tyrus

Post#1 » by vorbis » Wed Apr 18, 2012 8:41 pm

i suppose this is as good a place as any to talk about today's drama:

http://blogs.charlotte.com/inside_the_n ... ation.html

Rick Bonnell wrote:The frustration of a 7-53 season boiled over Sunday, when Charlotte Bobcats coach Paul Silas and power forward Tyrus Thomas got into a physical confrontation following the loss to the Boston Celtics.

Bobcats president of basketball operations Rod Higgins confirmed to the Observer that the two had a brush-up, after Yahoo Sports first reported the incident Wednesday afternoon.

i for one am only surprised that it took this long. kudos for silas for confronting tyrus about this sort of thing, but you never want to see fisticuffs between coaches and players.

I've said this million times already. Get rid of Tyrus ASAP. The experiment is over. He's a scrub and he's overpaid.

wow. i am surprised it took this long. i've been waiting for something like this to happen for a while.

tyrus actually played well on sunday, right up until he decided to take 3 jumpers in a row in crunch time. i am guessing that is what caused some issues. maybe silas called him out for taking those shots. or maybe tyrus, after having a decent game and sparking the 2nd quarter run called silas out for playing white ahead of him. i would have loved to have seen what happened.

regardless, it must not have been a big deal because tyrus played on monday.

best thing Silas has done for this team. too bad they were separated would have loved to hear how Tyrus got his ass beat by an old man

Is this being reported anywhere else?
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

my best guess for how things went down:

TT: dude did you see those celts whipping our ass no problem without all their best guys that was SICK
Silas: why were you out there yukking it up if they were beatin' your ass like you said
TT: yada yada yada
Silas: *throttling him and pushing him towards locker*
TT: AY!! *instinctively looks around for man with whistle to glare at, then jogs to the other end of the locker room and holds his arm up to come out of the game*
Silas: *subs in DJ White*
DJW: *promptly allows Silas to go into TT's locker unabated, he must have been looking for something important*
Locker Room Cleaning Staff: *outscores Bobcats 35-19 in the ensuing 12 minutes, never looks back and wins their 19th game*
vorbis: *pukes again, denies reports he has Bobcats-related bulemia*

Too bad TT did not strike Silas. We might could have tried and voided his contract and been rid of him.

So is there any way this guy doesn't get amnestied this offseason?

It only seemed like a possibility before, now could you even make a case for anyone else?

Silas, 68, had been incensed with Thomas chatting with some Boston Celtics players on the court, and lashed out at him in the losing locker room afterward. Eventually, Thomas snapped back at Silas, and the coach warned him to say no more or risk a suspension.

Once Thomas stood up, Silas pushed him toward his locker stall, sources said.

Bobcats general manager Rod Higgins met with Silas and Thomas, and both have been fined, a source said.

“Silas hates losing to the Celtics, and Paul was even angrier that he thought [Thomas] was acting buddy-buddy with some of their guys,” one source said. “That’s what got it going. But Paul was yelling at him over his salary, over what they have left to pay him. But it started with him saying, hey, he could live with the losing, but you’re going to be buddy-buddy as they’re beating your ass too?”

silas just showed his good traits. he isnt much of a teacher, isnt an x-o's guy (so really not the right coach to lead a massive rebuilding effort), but he doesnt back down from players, he is nice when he needs to be and is a bulldog when he needs to be. sunday he was a bulldog and rightfully so.

i'm racking my brain to find a single thing that tyrus could stand on to actually be upset and respond to being called out like he was. what has he done this season to deserve any respect from anyone in the organization?

I wish Paul would have punched and nearly knocked out Tyrus, then Tyrus retaliate and push Paul, then Stephen sees what is happening to his father and gave Thomas the Tombstone Pile driver.

Then maybe we could have voided all three of their contracts.

He used to be pretty active in charity I doubt that suddenly halted this year. That's the only thing I got (and it took me a while) besides not going into stands. Do we even have well-aiming beer throwers?

I think if there was any question, TT has to be amnestied this summer.

Silas - Thomas fight?

Post#19 » by countryboi » Wed Apr 18, 2012 10:45 pm

This is what ballwhore had to say from BP
Yeah DJ told me about this but I didn't want to break this it seemed serious enough like it would filter off of bcp and back to me...Silas was pissed at him for bullsh#ting with the other players and told him about it and Tyrus was said to tell Silas to gone ahead with all that and silas didn't like his attitude so he told him to leave the locker room and he was suspended. Tyrus didn't budge and looked at him like make me leave Silas walked over to him flipped him out of his chair and jumped on to of him and was about to start punching the **** out of him but the players pulled him off. What's so old school and pimping about it is once that Silas got off of him he pushed everybody off and said i'm cool you better be lucky they pulled me off ya young ass... they paying you 24 mil over the next 3 yrs and you are not worth a dollar of that money...lmao

All of a sudden Im not so apposed to Silas being with the organization next year, however instead of a coach I want him to be our goon- go f*ck up the other teams coaches if the other team is up by 10 or more entering the 4th.
