winning the two games would have had the same effect!

Not really

Except for the 2 games against the Lakers, the Spurs play Sacramento,Cleveland,Portland,Golden State and a tougher game against Phoenix

I think it's safe to say they would have swept the rest of the games even if we did won 2 times(this game and the next)

Meanwhile,OKC has games @ Phoenix,@ Lakers,2 times with Sacramento and with Denver

The way they have been playing lately,1 loss is possible out of those games

And with 1 loss, supposing we had beaten the Spurs 2 times(Spurs winning the rest of their games),
OKC and the Spurs would be in a tie and the Spurs hold the tiebreaker

So,if we would have won both games, there's like a 50/50 chance of avoiding the Thunder in the 2nd round, but if we were to lose both games the odds vastly improve

Damn, we got steam-rolled. Our PG defense still sucks and I don't see that changing in the playoffs. We're going to have to figure out how to deal with Parker and WB or we'll be a quick out in the 2nd round.

This reeked of one of those regular season "statement" games by the league. I couldn't understand how Sessions was getting pushed on his attempts with no calls, his first game with zero free throw attempts as a Laker. I know the game got out of hand and wasn't close for over half of it, but really the tone changed with one very questionable call and Metta posted about it on twitter.

Damn.. We was tied when the refs gave me my third foul.. They went on a 18-0 run...moving on....

I think that was a winnable game despite the ugly score, and we didn't even have Kobe. Not worried about the Spurs at all.

I hope no one talks about Bynum like he is a defensive anchor until he starts playing better defense. For a guy who's touted for his defense I've never seen so many drilled layups and open jumpers against him. It's not just this game either. I can't even recall the last time where he did play like an anchor.

lol whining about refs when Bynum got away with blatant travels all night and multiple three second violations. Also funny to see the league letting Laker bigs always get away with pushes with their off hand. Sessions didn't get that quick two off in time to end the first half but they still counted it.

I remember last year every Lakers fan I met was saying they wanted the Mavs in the playoffs too. . . Do you really want SA considering you probably also thought the Mavs would be a cakewalk last year too? Even OKC doesn't want to play SA. Think about it.

SA is the last team I want LA playing if I'm betting on LA to get far in the playoffs. OKC and Grizzlies (assuming ZBo healthy) are the other two teams I wouldn't want them playing. Everyone else LA can beat. Asking for both Grizzlies and Spurs is ridiuclous. There's no way the Lakers are beating both in a row. They'd get beat up by the Grizzlies and steamrolled by SA or OKC if they even made it past them. 3rd seed is a must have. . .

He hasn't been on the MVP list for 2 months for no reason. Every time someone on the opposing team has a good game, it isn't always a fluke man.

It's a reason guys here aren't too worried or afraid to play the Spurs.

First off there is no way in hell they're shooting 60% for a whole game, secondly the Lakers won't cough the ball up 5 straight times again. Spur fans won't admit it but truth be told the Lakers are the LAST team they want to see in the playoffs. The matchups don't favor them at all. It took a game like last night where everything fell in place for them to win. I'll leave it at that......but trust me nobody here is afraid of them.

I just wanted to say **** you gregg popovich for deciding to play Parker and Duncan over 30 minutes on the road despite frequently limiting their playing time over the season.

This was definitely spite.
