Re: UFC on Fuel 2: 4/14, SWE, T. Silva vs. Gustafsson
LOL. Goldie got himself into an awkward situation when he mentioned that Hendo might fight at 185 or 205. Florian then mentioned he hypothetically would probably fight at HW. But neither could acknowledge that he actually offered to fight at HW just a week ago, that would mean them having to explain why there might be a fight open at HW right now.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

I missed the entire card tonight. Based on the results and the reactions here, I'll definitely have to watch it tomorrow.

Re: UFC on Fuel 2: 4/14, SWE, T. Silva vs. Gustafsson
Pretty enjoyable event.
I actually enjoyed Maguire/Johnson the most. Back and forth grappling scrambles capped off by a kimura reversed into an armbar. Good stuff. Siver/Nunes was okay, but they weren't landing very many quality strikes for all of the standing they did. Siyar's KO was cool looking, but one of those ones that didn't leave me feeling like he's clearly the better fighter. Stann's on the other hand was the end of a beat down. That's the kind of KO that means something.
Nothing much of note on the prelims. Abedi sucks. Carmont's comeback was impressive, but he shouldn't have allowed himself to get into so much trouble vs. random Swede if he's any good. Diabate/DeBlass was a snoozer.
And WTF happened to Pickett vs. Page? It wasn't on the broadcast I saw, nor the Facebook prelims, but I saw it won fight of the night. TV time on Fuel too valuable to show it?

Re: UFC on Fuel 2: 4/14, SWE, T. Silva vs. Gustafsson
I enjoyed that event a lot.
First off, great crowd, really impressed with Swede fans.
I wish Diabate didn't suck on the ground, because I always love watching this guy.
Pickett looked good. The gypsy guy with his Gyspy JJ was surprising.
And the two of them were hilarious at the presser.
"What will you do with your bonus?"
"G'n bay me Ma a new caravan....with chrome wheels!" LOLOL
Siyar......not sold yet. Sure, he looked good, but that was a freak punch. Need to see more....and a longer fight.
Siver.....good fight, but Nunes is kind of dumb. 145 is such a shallow division.
Atta boy, Cap'n Stann. I can't help but love this guy. Yeah, I wish the American War Hero thing would get toned down because it does;t play well with half the Americans and the rest of the entire world, but he is a class-act to the max. Brian, ground game, ground game, ground game.
Always gonne be a Silva fan, I love this guy. Alex looked really good and is really getting good at using that length and his cardio is really good for a big guy. I think Shogun is the fight for Gustaffsson to see where he is at.
I was wondering about T. Silva dropping to 185.

Gustafsson won't fight Bader, Dana says a Bader fight is about to be announced.

Strangely enough, it wasn't aired on the ESPN UK broadcast. You'll have to find a FUEL or web rip.
It's worth tracking donw.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

That guy who fought Abedi, damn what a great right hand. Pulls it down with such power. That was fantastic. But that fight was seriously at 170??? Those guys were huuuuuuuuuuge.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

Re: UFC on Fuel 2: 4/14, SWE, T. Silva vs. Gustafsson
I was really looking forward to Siyar's UFC debut and was glad to see him KO a legit guy so quickly. I agree that we'll have to see him fight again - and it may be a top ten guy - but I don't think anyone will be clamoring to fight him.
His two losses in the last eight years have be subs against Jorge Santiago (who fights at MW) and Kazuo Misaki (again at MW). I haven't seen anyone take him down at WW. He does tend to open himself up a bit when he comes in swinging, but he hits like a truck.

That's strange. I caught a replay yesterday on Sportsnet and it showed the Pickett vs. Page fight.

I guess it was only the ESPN UK broadcast that cut it. Makes sense, because it's not like it had one of the best British fighters in a FOTN or anything.

cowboyronnie wrote:That KO of Paulo is as uncanny as you can get. WTF? Thiago's only in the UFC (nevermind the maincard) for unsubstantial reason, so he was probably due for some bad luck. His top two credentials include going to the judges with Jon Fitch? LOL, as opposed to all the guys who get finished by Fitch?

Re: UFC on Fuel 2: 4/14, SWE, T. Silva vs. Gustafsson
You guys really think that Gustafsson was impressive? I haven't seen too much of him but really is his stand up on the level of the top guys in the division? Thiago Silva isn't even close to the top of LHW anymore. And does he have any take down defense? His build is really weak and my guess is that if he'd fight a wrestler he'd be thrown around like ragg doll. Anyways despite the criticism I hope he proves me wrong and I'll be rooting for him in the future!

His next fight should answer a lot of questions.
