OT: Pudge Rodriguez retires

Post#1 » by baulderdash77 » Wed Apr 18, 2012 10:40 pm

Certainly one of the top 5 catchers all time, maybe best, and a 1st ballot hall of fame player.

14 time all star, 13 time gold glove, 7 time silver slugger and an MVP. He played more games & had more hits than any catcher. Nobody ever shut the running game down like Pudge did. He was just on another level defensively along with his great offensive production.

There's not very many times that you see an all time great leave the game. I remember him as a rookie and you'd never know he was only 19 at the time he played so well.

He's going to re-join the Rangers for 1 day to retire as a Ranger and get a proper send off. Probably their best all-time player. The Jays should have done the same for Delgado in my opinion.

greatest catcher ever to play the game in my opinion. what a cannon of an arm. and that's on top of hitting for average, power, and having incredible speed...

miss ya already pudge.

He was my favourite player for years (late 90's) until I learned of the 'roids.

i dunno, i wouldnt have minded having him backup at the plate for the JAYS..... he's still a solid defender, which is exactly why we are Jeff Mathis to do as of now. I rather have a guy like Pudge to fill in the extra role than Mathis, who is garbage

at the least he would be a leader... and solid catcher
