Devin Harris
Seems he has regained his form and is really meshing well with this team.

Honestly we are really really good when he is just pushing the ball and we are running, this is why I will be in the "Bench/Trade Al" camp this Summer if it comes to that..

Re: Devin Harris
I'm very happy with Devin. I think we could get some good years out of him yet. He's good enough to be a the starting point guard on a contending team, in my opinion, if our other pieces pan out as we hope they will.

Re: Devin Harris
Harris was crap for the majority of the season and all sudden wanna play good now, your not fooling me Devin. Don't be a prisoner of the moment because John Salmons would pull that crap every year before he got his big contract and now he's almost non existance. If a player can't be good all year, they gotta go.

Re: Devin Harris
He is playing at allstar level but why now? I would hope it is bc he found his way in the Jazz offense. Unfortunately, I believe he is playing well bc KOC told him that if you want to be traded you need to play better. I really dont have any real evidence to support my theory but it seems like the most plausible cause of how he plays like the worst player in NBA history at the beggining of the year and then all of the sudden around trade deadline time he dramatically improves for the remaining of the year. I think he is gone in the off season in a package deal with Big Al and maybe the contingent GSW pick to Houston for Lowery and Scola or possibly a similar Rondo deal.

I seriously doubt KOC goes around threatening players. I wouldn't put it past some GMs, but it's not something a good GM would do, and it's definitely not something I can see him doing.
I think it's all confidence and familiarity. I don't think it's any coincidence that he started playing well after being with the team a full calendar year.

No real facts but what if Devin Harris through his agent asked for a trade and KOC says no one wants you unless you start playing better so he starts playing better near the trade deadline, but no one still wanted him so he decides to play strong rest of the year so he is traded in the off season. I can see that happening.

I remember the word on the street was that Devin really wanted to stay and was disappointed at the idea that he was being shopped. I think you're out in left field on this one.

Devin Harris
So it could be that he's relieved to have not been traded and finally feels comfortable.

Re: Devin Harris
Devin Harris was barely trying for most of the year. In every game thread we had many people saying he didn't look like he cared. Like I said this is a john salmons situation. Before he go his contract when he snifted playoffs, he smelt oppurtunity because some people only remeber what have you done for me lately which is evidence by this thread. I guarentee you if we were out of the playoff hunt, he wouldn't be playing like this.

Re: Devin Harris
just be happy he is playing better....come on...i think it's a number of things that are leading to his playing better(firs off he's hitting threes) Sometimes you need the ball to go in the hoop and when it's not it's hard to enjoy basketball. Wesley Matthews earlier this year couldn't buy a basket, but now that the threes are going down, he looks great again. Also, with Watson out, Harris is getting more minutes. The team is getting better and there is something to fight for. I'm glad he's playing hard now. It's not because he is worried about his trade value, it's because he's a baller and we need him to get in the playoffs.

Re: Devin Harris
If this was the only example of Devin being this successful on the court, I could buy the notion that he's playing for either a trade or for a contract. A couple of things suggest otherwise. He was once an All Star PG in this league, which suggests that it isn't just something he turns off or on to suit his contract situation. Also, he's on an up and coming team for which he is under contract already for next season. The whole play for a contract extension hasn't extended passed the final season of a contract, unless I have just missed something.
The stress of being a former all star who was simply a throw in for salary reasons to the deal that brought him here (Favors being the centerpiece), the fact that the Jazz had 2 other quality PG's on the roster potentially left him in an uncertain situation. Also, i think the strike shortened season, the lack of training camp, etc also played a part in that.
All in all, this is the Devin Harris he can be and it's sure fun to watch.

Re: Devin Harris
Devin is playing better since Watson is not playing anymore stealing him minutes.
Corbin is trying to puy some lineups with 2 pg too and Devin is increasing his minutes and confidence.

Re: Devin Harris
Well this isn't Devin's contract year so that theory isn't totally valid. The thing is Devin is our starting PG at least through next year, so I hope he can keep it going. It will be disappointing to not have a young PG behind him next year to bring along, but that is the price we may pay for making the playoffs.

Re: Devin Harris
I think he is playing better because he is filling comfortable since the trade deadline. I think he felt as though he was going to get traded so he was not all here.
