NY Yanks (7-6) @ Boston BoSawx (4-8): Tale of two Cities
Yanks and Red Sox are a tradition of two irritable fan bases that will always let their bias overshadow their clarity and priority in thinking. But do the head to head match ups mean as much as they once did? Questionable. The game has changed. Competition is more than a 2-3 team race.
Good for baseball. Bad if you're a fan for either team.
Again, the Yanks fail to get off to a fast start in April. Look over the first 13 games of the season, seldom are the Yanks out in front. Last night, the Twins once again put the offense in a -4 run deficit to climb out of.
Meanwhile, the greatest weapon the Yanks have against Boston is Bobby Valentine. Thanks!
Once again, baseball is a game of series...NOT W-L. By that rationale, the Yanks are 2-1-1. Not bad but could be a whole lot better.
Where is the stability going to come from on the mound? Red Sox can kill the baseball. Yanks will need all their horses in the rotation ready to go.
Game 1: Nova (2-0) Buchholz (1-0)
Game 2: Garcia (0-1) Doubront (0-0)
Game 3: Sabathia (1-0) Bard (0-2)
On paper, Yanks should destroy the Sawx but Yanks always seem to pick the hard way...Let's GO!

1st and 3rd, no outs and the Yankees fail to score a run and people wonder why I bitch about the offense.

Re: NY Yanks (7-6) @ Boston BoSawx (4-8): Tale of two Cities
Can't label the Sawx roiders when the Yanks have 6+ more seasons committed to A-Roid at 3B who confessed AFTER he signed that contract. Since then, A-roid hasn't hit more than 30 HRs and his injuries are mounting.
Hitting comes and goes. This isn't fantasy sports. .270-280 is fine for a slugger.
Yanks rush out to a 3-0 lead and haven't looked back. Eric Chavez feeling it as Joe Girardi pushes the right buttons and sends Alex to DH where he's better served.
Excellent situational pitching by Ivan Nova. While he's given up 7 hits but only 1 HR while his opposite Buchholz gave up only 2 hits more but 5 Home Runs. I am glad I was wrong about him.
So no one can complain...Yanks got the lead, kept the lead, got solid starting pitching....let's see if they can slam the door.

No team in baseball outside of the Roid Sux have benefited more from their players cheating. Man Ram and Big Poopi are two of the biggest cheats every in the history of baseball. Big Poopi was a 20 hr scrub who the Twins didn't even want to keep. Last time I checked, he still hasn't even admitted to cheating. So F him.
Super Nova is now 20-6 in 35 career starts with an ERA of 3.9 and a Whip right around 1.4 pitching in the AL BEAST. all by the age of 25. I recall someone on here wants to send him to the bullpen.
hahahahahahahahahaha
hold on

WAIT....don't throw stones in a glass house.
ALL TEAMS benefited from Roids and it's NOT FAIR competition on ANY level. You can't be a Yankee fan and not realize that Pettitte, Clemens, A-Rod, Kevin Brown, Sheffield benefited as well.
That's funny, someone on this board was ragging on Jeter and saying Pineda would be fine. Hmm. Jeter hitting .359 and Pineda on the DL. Yet REFUSES to come clean and admit that....
Like I said, I'm happy to be wrong about Nova BUT I'm not sold that giving up 10 hits, 7 hits in the 2 of the three wins in APRIL is a good sign. Why you say? Well, he's not a strike out pitcher. He gets it through pitch selection and battling...When that arm tires a litte we'll see...for now, I enjoy being wrong.
And look forward to reinforcements as Hughes seems 1 start away from going to the pen...and Garcia is on borrowed time till Pettitte is ready.

yeah ok, the yankees didn't benefit from steroids.... Roger Clemens wasnt the ace of the staff. Andy Pettitte never pitched for the Yankees. Giambi stopped using steroids after he became a Yankees. Sheffield didn't know what the "cream" was.

come on Dr, tell us again how a guy who has started his career
20-6 in 35 starts with a 3.9 era and a whip of 1.4 at the age of 25
should be sent to the bullpen

Nova showing exactly why spring training is meaningless. I don't care if the guy doesn't have the power Joba and Hughes do, he has showed far more as starting pitcher than those two combined. He never cracks and has the tools to get out of trouble. He reminds me of Pettite in the sense that he's manages himself through a game.
The Sawx look mediocre.

Alex hits a weak grounder with Cano on second for the out...Ugh. Let's hope Garcia brought his A game.

Start the countdown to Pettitte coming back...I don't expect Andy to be anything but he's better than Garcia.

0-5....AGAIN, pitching...it's so crucial and can alleviate the mountain that the Yanks offense will have to climb to get back into it.

Who would have known that Colon has more left in the tank than Garcia?
What a horrible rotation.

they shouldve brought colon back regardless
he just got tired at end of last season b/c he had pitched winter ball
this is a easy decision, garcia should be DFA when andy is ready
