Truth is...You better hope it doesnt come down to coaching
Game 2 of the finals. Coaching!
Game 4/5 of the finals. Coaching!
Putting players in a position to succeed. I rewatched the Eastern Conference....Honestly...It was really just LeBron playing at an elite level. Watched the finals...It was Wade playing at an elite level.
The key for the Heat is that LeBron, Wade, Bosh need to all be playing at least an elite level. Not all have to be great. But you need at least 1..or 2 of them at that level. The Heat got lucky against the Bulls...LeBron was just awesome down the stretch of those games. Im just being real. Against the Celtics....Wade and LeBron were unstoppable. Especially Wade.
If the Heat win the title this year...they'll do it with the worst coach in years to do so (in relative terms...not saying he's a bad coach...just wont be as good as those guys)
LeBron, Wade, Bosh are going to have to overcome some of SPo's X's and 0's issues. Period. Because if it comes down to strategy or matchups or rotations or drawing up plays when you need a basket....the Heat are in trouble. Spo is still 'Learning on the job".
Its on the Big 3 to just play at a super high level. Cause there can be no confidence in Spo figuring out ways to get his guys to do so. Carlisle had Spo confused in the finals last year when the games came down to coaching.
Just hope the Big 3 are playing at their best or history will repeat itself...

I find it amusing we had coaching issues even in the Wizards game LOL. Cole still in when ruining the game and taking away the hot hand from Miller... no JJ in atleast. No Pittman in the 4th LOL.
It's been like this for years that coaching is a key come playoff time, particularly the Finals.
If Spo goes up against Popovich, I might cry.

I fully believe we're the most talented team in basketball, but Spo vs Thibs in the playoffs should scare the hell out of you. I do think we're capable of overcoming him, but he would be the least accomplished HC in league history to win a chip. I can't think of anyone in history even close to accomplishing so little as either a player or coach before leading a team to a title.

I think Spo can do fine against Thibs.
It's people like Doc Rivers and Popovich I'm wary of. We out talented Boston last year and Rondo broke his arm.
I remember Doc showed the Heat their own plays at the AS break last year, and this year the outcoached Spo when we were getting blown out. All Spo could say is "stay the course (he really said this in the huddle)". rofl.
Also the fact that Doc said "Heat can' score in our half court defense", scares me. And he was right (this year).

Spo owned Thibs in the playoffs last year. Putting Lebron on Rose in the fourth quarters pretty much completely shut them down, and Haslem made Noah irrellevent.
I think it's the players at the end of the day. We lost the Mavs series because of Lebron. We all knows this. Maybe Spo could have still stolen some games with some brilliant rotation or game plan, but the fact of the matter is, if Lebron plays to his normal level we win that series in a sweep.
We'll go as far as Lebron's crazy brain will let us. Spo's got little to do with it.

well if it comes down to coaching then the big 3 failed cause the design of the team is so that it doesn't have to come down to coaching. three high talent, high iq players. if they can't figure it out then well they don't deserve to win. spo may not be the best coach in the nba, but he's good enough to win a ship with this team!

Haslem had nothing to do with Noah... who wasn't even in there at the end of the games last year.
If Bosh repeats his play of last year against the Bulls we will win. They like to be in the paint and the fact that Bosh is our PF shooting jumpers, while their PF's (usually Gibson) and their C's are in the paint (especially Asik), Bosh will get jumpers in all day and if he makes them. He's unstoppable lol.
Bosh owned Noah though.... big time... lol. Noah just couldn't guard him.

Mods can we merge all of these Anti-spo threads so that we can stop reading the same posts over and over again.

So true. LeBron misses one of those late game 3's and the Heat lose a couple.

Thats easy for us as fans to say.
But WHY did LeBron struggle? It wasnt just him shrinking from the moment. It was him being a thrown a curveball by excellent coaching from Dallas as well. Sometimes you need your star HC get out your star player out of a jam. It cant be so simplistic as...LeBron go do it. Yes he failed the Heat. No doubt. But where was the coach to put him in a position to succeed. Wade was worse against the Bulls than LeBron was against the Mavs. We should have had enough to win that series. A few simple adjustments from Spo (pick and roll with LeBron/Wade...More cutting from LeBron to get easy baskets to get his confidence going, etc.etc.)
Yes Bron blew it, no doubt. But no one won a championship without the coach making an adjustment.

That's really a pretty poor excuse. Just because the team can win with a crappy coach doesn't mean we should be fine with a crappy coach. The Big 3 can think whatever they like, talent is wasted if you don't have a coach that can make all the pieces fit together and put them in the best position against other teams. If there's another coach available that can do that better, why wouldn't we want him?
I'm not a Spo hater, but I am a little sick of his fanboys pretending like the guy is an awesome coach and refusing to acknowledge any of his flaws. The guy is a good coach, but he's made a lot of mistakes this year with this team. We have to come to terms with that in some way.

Where are these threads when we win?
Stop scapegoating the guy. I suppose the Fire Spo bandwagon broke down after the last few wins, so now it's being pushed across the finish line purely by bitterness.
Instead of constantly trashing our coach, why not point out some of the many flaws the other coaches have? No one's perfect. Spo has his issues, but his positives far-outweigh his negatives. Some of you guys don't deserve nice things.
This awful coach of ours turned a 15 win team into a playoff team. He has never had a losing season, and that's while piloting a team that was just riding out mediocrity in preparation for the Big3. Give the guy a **** break. His first year with the Big3, we come up 2 games short of the championship. OH WHOA IS **** ME! Do any of you goddamn complainers remember when this team was actually bad?
Our man-god Riley coached the team to the worst record in franchise history. The man-god Riley coached a championship team to a horrific blowout on its ring night. Something I'll never forget. Man-god Riley got swept in the first round after winning a championship...the season before 15 wins. You guys have no perspective and no appreciation for the best team this franchise has ever had. Enjoy the ride. The constant bitching is a major buzz kill. PEACE.

Re: Truth is...You better hope it doesnt come down to coachi
Spo coached Miami to game 1 and game 3 finals wins, and a 25 point lead in game 2, and a 15 point lead in game 4.
Both games Dallas went on unbelievable streaks of shot making, like NBA Jam level to come back, and all down to final shots. We should have swept. I can understand the argument that a coach shouldn't be able to lose a game at that point, but I would say the same about three superstars and ANY coach in replacement.
We got complacent, tried to let everyone get their stats, went away from what was working. Played like morons.

Correct me if am wrong but didn't Wade seperate his shoulder and needed surgery but instead decided to play though it and wasn't 100% in that series? That bulls team also forced the Pistons to 6 games. They weren't exactly pushovers. But i do agree with some of the things you said.

That team started 19-25, before injuries can be blamed for the suck. Like I said, the team was bad from ring night. There is no blaming injuries for that season IMO. I can't be the only one who spent the whole season disappointed with the team's play, especially given how much heart they showed the previous postseason. PEACE.
