As it stands now, both guys will probably be gone before we pick. Royce is a PF, and that is the one spot we do not need to draft. Taylor makes some sense if he is still available. I'm hoping one of Teague, Lillard, or Marshall slips to us.

I like Royce's game, dont get me wrong, but he comes across as a high risk/high reward player. I think he be better off on a team that has the time and patience to work with him to establish himself. I would be a happy man if we could land lillard, marshall, or Teague. However I do like Tony Mitchells game. Personally I think he's a 3 at the pro level. Dude can hit the three, blocks shots, extremely active on both ends of the floor. Reminds me of a better version of Earl Clark.

Royce has every red flag imaginable. But, he also has a lot of talent.

Teague and Tony Mitchell are better fits, and I'd take either happily if they fell to us.

Yeah I was just reading that Royce has character issues. I'd be happy with Teague or Taylor in Rd 1.

Undoubtedly he's talented, with our luck though if we pick him he'll flop, if another team picks him he'll blow up. I agree with you I think in terms of fit Mitchell and Teague would be the better picks.

Wierd, just checked out draftexpress, Tony Mitchell isn't even listed :-/ Where as NBADraft.net has us picking him in 1st rd....

anyone else here hoping we keep dropping down the rankings so we get a better pick? i hope we get the 8th seed and the 16 or 17 pick and get a steal like teague or rivers there. obviously were not going to win a championship so might as well get a good young player in a deep draft while we can.

Super Dream scenario : Orlando tank the rest of their games, get 9th place, fall into lottery, win it, get Anthony Davis. Flip Ryan for a perimeter player.

Realistic scenario : Magic get 20th pick, either trade it with a bad cintract or draft a project big, yawn.

This Moe Harkless has great stats in NCAA. Is he any good? He is projected to be drafted close to where we will pick.

NBAdraft.net has Orlando selecting Royce Write. A 21 year old Freshman with an NBA body and no jump shot. Unless GM Smith is gone, I cannot see Orlando selecting such a major project.

As I said above, I think the smartest play would be for the Magic to trade picks with a Portland/Utah-type team to get above the #14 and draft Kendall Marshall. He could be developed behind Nelson, and in 2-3 years, be the next starting PG for the Magic for the next ten years. I see this as a perfect move for the Magic.

If Orlando is long-term committed to Davis at starting PF next to a long-term-inked Howard, Anderson plus the ~25 pick should be enough for Portland to trade for the ~11 pick. (Orlando cannot afford Anderson's next contract).

I dont like this deal, we give too much for just a guy with potential. Too much risk, IMO.

I don't think we can trade Ryan Anderson, he is a restricted free agent this summer. I rather the Magic FO try to clear cap space as much as possible including using this year pick, and possibly sign Deron Williams.

So we will end up with 19th or 20th pick, not bad. I hope we get a PG or a SF.

Economically, Anderson is unlikely to be resigned. So, this prospective trade is not so bad, in my opinion.

That and I think Baby's play of late is going to make Ryan expendable.

Magic should have tried to trade Ryno for a pick before trade deadline, too late now.

I'd gladly do this! I want as low a draft pick as possible for this deep, deep draft.
