The real-time looked unintentional. Everyone who's watched MWP play the past few seasons knows that he celebrates by pounding his chest wildly. I honestly don't think he saw Harden there. I think he should get a 1-2 game suspension just because of how it looked.

For the people who are calling for a lifetime ban.... give me a break. If he didn't get a lifetime ban for knocking out some fans... you really think he'll get banned for this?

It's the most blatant non basketball play I've ever seen. It had absolutely no context within the game.

I know I'm not the only who just been waiting for the next incident since the Malice.

We may have very well just seen the last of Ron Artest/MWP in the NBA.

Once a thug always a thug. He better get a 25 game suspension for this crap, not first time he does something stupid. If Raffi Torre's in NHL gets a 25 game suspension for his huge hit and well know history of that kind of stuff, then World Peace should also get 20-25 game suspension. NBA needs to end this crap so he can learn a lesson.

Oh please stop calling out the Laker fans at the arena for cheering. They didnt know what happened and its very common in the league to cheer a guy when he gets ejected. Ron Artest is a freaking idiot, but leave the fans in the arena out of the discussion, because they clearly didnt know what happened.

See ya Ron.

If the L doesn't fully ban him I think this should be a message to all NBA teams that no matter what he will not be able to control himself and give your team a chance because he will do something stupid to ruin it. The Zen Master was able to reign him in for one season and maybe Adleman was able to keep him somewhat in check but it is only a matter of time before he pops off.

With his history if I made the call, I would ban him, and I used to like this guy. Just pathetic, now that is a play that could seriously injure someone. Half an inch higher and I would be really worried.

Too be fair, it was probably just a couple drunks that started cheering, then the rest of the crowd didn't even know what they were cheering for since they are all just sitting on their phones.

They didn't show the replays in Staples. And in real time from far away it looked like he could have just smacked into him while doing his beating the chest thing. It was only once they showed the replays that you really saw how bad it was.

I'm praying it's only a 5 game suspension.
Lakers fan since 99.

Should definitely be banned given the history.

I just saw the replay and for people to be screaming that it was Intentional has to be kidding me. I'm not a Lakers fan idc for that team at all but to say that it was 100% intentional when players always do this type of stuff to get hyped is crazy imo. James Harden was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. Remember when Vince Carter dunked over the 7 footer? He got hyped turned around and swung his fist while Kevin Garnett was probably inches away from getting clocked in the face.

He shouldn't get suspended at all. It was an unintentional play.

it was no accident. MWP felt a body on him and raised his elbows high and then swung it...and even if it is an accident, you don't swing your elbows that high when you don't have the ball...the only people who normally swing their elbows is when they grab a rebound and swing it around to keep someone from stealing it.
