An unprecedented 86-game suspension clearly didn't convince Artest to stop the dirty BS, what would a 2-3 game suspension do?
Lol ok Clippers fan. No need to argue with me. I know where you're coming from

I can see where Artest is coming from. Don't be running all up on me like that. You gotta give a man some space when he's pumped up and emotional. Harden ran into Artest first. He could have walked by him but chose to walk INTO him. That's disrespectful. So he got hit. He could have totally avoided the whole situation.
And if that girl hadn't been wearing that tight outfit...
But do you know what they call a fool, who's full of himself and jumps into the path of death because it's cool?

Out for the season it would be fair.
Anyway, if I were Lakers GM, MWP wouldn´t play for lakers anymore. When you are on court, you represent a team.

yes. That stupid harden shouldn't be bumping into people. And if he does, its his fault if he gets an elbow to the back of the ear.
Ban Artest for life. Im sick of this guy.

LOL. Only at RealGM
Kobe wasn't injured on that play....It makes a difference. That, and you're completely ignoring the fact that Ron Artest has a history of being an idiot, Raja Bell not so much.
Lakers trainers cleared him to play. OKC just played it safe. He's not injured. And give me a break, the Malice happened 8 years ago
That's not the only time Artest has done something wrong.

I'm also an NBA fan, and I think going soft on Artest would be bad for the game. Also, I actually like Artest when he's not pulling despicable crap like what he did tonight. But it's time we just accept that he'll never learn, and subsequently, that he doesn't belong in the NBA as a result.

Malone got away with vicious elbows as well. Some of them - game suspensions. The league is soft nowadays anyways. Plus it's the Thunder, the NBA's darling.

Re: Metta World Peace elbow to Harden
Not a Lakers fan but that was no where near as bad as people make it out to be, what kind of f***tard is saying that could cause irreversible damage? Come on seriously?
Ejection and suspension, yes but for people talking about hockey players being charged for assault for their hits and comparing it to this, get real.
Grow some balls America.

Okay dude, consider him backed by this Laker fan, who also wants to tell you to stop looking at everything through the lens of your homerdom. People are getting hurt, and you're just concerned about the guys wearing your favorite outfits. Get perspective.

Yeah, that hit was perfectly legitimate. It's all Stern's fault!

And Ron won a citizenship award a few years ago, he's obviously changed since then. http://newsone.com/1194125/ron-artest-w ... hip-award/ You have to look at the whole picture when looking at a player's character. When's the last game he got suspended or even ejected?
Last year's playoffs, for clotheslining a player.

Lakers fans need to stop being so defensive. This isn't people hating on the Lakers, this is people being concerned with a lunatic on the floor, it just so happens that he is in a Lakers uniform.

To you and those who think like you, think through what you're saying:
You're asserting the fact that because something happened 8 years ago makes it no longer relevant.
However, the fact that he acts like this now basically means he's still the same hair trigger guy from 8 years ago despite years of therapy and punishments.
Stern should be looking at every punishment he gives and say: What am I accomplishing?
In the case of Artest, why would anyone think a temporary punishment will keep him from doing this again? If the punishment doesn't curtail the behavior, only two logical options make sense: 1) Ban the player, or 2) Accept the behavior.
Hopefully it's obvious to everyone that the behavior can't be accepted, so Stern needs to at the very least strongly consider the ban.
Well said. It is obvious no matter what punishment is bestowed upon him Artest simply will not stop stop acting like a thug. Artest will get suspended for whatever time is deemed, he will behave for a while that without warning he will close-line or elbow someone. The truth is that no one in the NBA is safe from Artest right now. Stern has to see this and think about a banning him for life because these suspensions he has been getting for years has done nothing to curb his violent behavior.

So you think Artest deserves a lifetime ban?
