You can trade the player drafted in 2012 as long as you physically select the player then trade him, it's a loophole in the rule.

Also, if we find a way to attain another 2012 1st round pick we're good as well.

These are all true. Thanks for the heads up on the name of the rule too.

Hmm, interesting way of putting it lol. We've made trades for both types the past decade which landed us great players in Kidd and Carter and some "quality" players.

That's not necessarily true.

You can make a trade that brings in a real star and keep Deron, resign Wallace as well and either resign Brook or S&T him for someone good but different.

Listen, I'm not expecting greatness at this point, but it's not out of the question.

Dwight is still out there as well, there's no denying it.

This team better get there sh*t right, because that Blueprint for Greatness isn't going as planned I believe, unless this was the plan from the start.

Indeed.

Oh, and I'm talking as if we have a 1st round pick in this draft, silly me :banghead:

The trade was awful, but maybe we'll luck out into top 3.

And the sad part is even if we do, the pick will almost definitely be traded and in a true doomsday where Deron and Wallace walk, yet we "only" get the 3rd overall with Davis and Robinson off the board, we're probably looking at shipping somewhere around the 4th to 9th overall to Portland in 2013 when we're in a forced real deal youth rebuild.

Hooray Billy Jester!

You should know my stance better than anyone by now lol. Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong, IMO. My optimistic days for the Nets died when Carter got traded, 0-18 started, and 12-70 ended. Unless I actually see a Nets team, with kid of NBA success, any kind of NBA success on the floor soon, I think this team and its future is crap. But please King, Proky, and Petro, prove me wrong for everyone sake lol.

We really needed Utah to lose last night for HOU to have a better shot at the playoffs.
If the Rockets can win tonight, they put themselves back in the ballgame, but they still need a lot to get in.

**** NI lol.

That dude kept telling me how dumb I was for questioning the Twill trade and how stupid I was for saying Houston was going to miss the playoffs this season as a treadmill team before the season started.

I am not happy for being right though, this sucks so bad.

Can we hide this thread till next year?

The dominoes have started to fall and I don't think BK sees that they're falling on him.

To be fair, he wasn't far off. And who would have thought the team we "robbed" TWICE, might make the playoffs? How's that Okur trade worked out again for us?

Not far off sounds a lot like wrong to me.

To be fair he lambasted me over and over in his jackhole jerkoff arrogant manner that he usually attacks other Nets fans with on his Nets website.

So to be fair he's a massive sack of dicks.

How the hell does Houston go 3-7 in the L10 before the playoffs. EPIC FAIL

A lot of teams don't try as hard as them cause they are either already out or already in and giving there vets a rest. They're screwed and because of that we are screwed.

Okur trade was a huge hit. Going to be a huge loss once we give up...uh...what did we give up again?

I hate to bring it up right now, but there's a good chance we never get that pick.

If the Rockets can't land a big fish this summer and if Dragic walks, what are the chances they blow it up?

They aren't all that good to begin with, I think at that point you could see them deal everyone they can besides Lowry and one of their young bigs.

If that's the case, you're probably looking at 3 more seasons of lottery.

If we don't get this pick and then don't get in the top 3 picks and loose the other to portland our draft ain't looking to good so far.

I know we gave them a huge trade exception and made a 7ft richer while "resting" his back. In the end, I really tip my cap off to King and this whole organization. I hope to see everyone here in Brooklyn next season supporting our team, because its not that hard to do via forum. Lets not lack fan support again for another 35 years like many did in the past.

Dragic walking is irrelevant if Lowry is healthy... But yeah I wouldn't be surprised if we never get this pick, though with BK's history of trading draft picks maybe it won't be "our" draft pick for much longer?
