Im still under big shock of what just happened in the Lakers game before.
Im refusing to say or type his name ever again, especially his ridiculous new name.

What he did is not just a "not basketball play" as Durant called it, but a brutal and life-threatening act by a completely insane and sick person.
After that I think he should be suspended from the NBA for his whole career.
There is no way a player like that should be allowed to step on a sports court ever again.
As an NBA player I would refuse to play against this guy, as I would seriously be afraid he could kill anyone in a game.
Overreaction? No! That elbow could've killed or paralised Harden forever.
Life may not be the party we hoped for but while we are here we might as well dance!

I agree with you both.
I am so sick of Ron Artest.
Something needs to be done with him.
It's not like this is an isolated incident.

All things considered aka "The Malice in the Palace" this blatant crazy hard elbow, dude needs to be tossed from the league.

Kermit Washington was banned from the league I don't see how this is any different.

The only positive thing coming from this is that Harden's head wasn't caved in from the elbow unlike Rudy T's face from the punch.

Ron needs to be tossed from the league period anything less will be disappointing.

Pathetic. Just another Laker with zero class.

Freakin disgrace. Hope James recovers OK. Id rather him sit and miss the playoffs if need be. Concussions are serious things

i actually was a big Ron Artest fan, post Palace brawl. I was always pulling for the guy to overcome his ridiculous behavior in the past but i've lost all respect for him now. it's not a overreaction to say that was a life threatening violent act. he could, and should, be arrested for that. with that much force, by someone as strong and large as Artest, that could have killed Harden or seriously injured him. the positive is that right before he made contact with Harden's head, Artest's arm hit Harden's back and shoulder and probably slowed down the velocity of the blow. otherwise, i think Harden would have been in some real trouble.

Artest, IMO, should be thrown out of the league and banned from all major sports.

What a surprise, another Laker fan with no class. Artest should be out of the league for at least the remainder of this season and the next as well. There is no place for that in professional sports. With the bad pub the NFL has been getting for dirty play, the NBA should be all over this in no time.
I also think he should be and possibly will be charged with assault, with the Kermit Washington punch he at least alleged that he thought there was a fight and he heard somebody running up behind him so his punching Rudy was in "self defense".
Artest has no chance at even claiming that with this latest cheap shot. I hope Harden turns out to be okay and isnt lost for any playoff games.

please give it a rest... this was barely any worse than what Wade did to Kobe in an ALLSTAR game no less.... why is Harden trying to get in Artest face anyway... he was looking for trouble, NBA is soooooo soft these days, OKC are a bunch of fake punks anyway

Perhaps Oklahoma City Thunder guard Thabo Sefolosha said it best when the described Metta World Peace’s hit on James Harden as “stupid.”
“During the review I saw it,” Sefolosha said. “Stupid play. Stupid play. We don’t need that.”
Thunder coach Scott Brooks called World Peace’s flying elbow to the head “a bad play… a dangerous play.”
“It’s not a play that should be involved in basketball,” Brooks said. “And it’s unfortunate it happened. I know Ron (Artest), but unfortunately it did happen. You can’t do that. That’s unacceptable.”
World Peace is expected to be slapped with a multi-game suspension by the league after what he called an “unintentional” elbow that caught Harden near his right temple. Harden reportedly suffered a concussion and his status for the Thunder’s remaining games is uncertain.
Kevin Durant said he didn’t get a good look at the play, but was happy Harden was well enough to walk out of Staples Center on his own.
“It was a bad play,” Durant said. “Hopefully Ron didn’t do it intentionally or had any malicious intentions on that. But it is what it is. We got to move past that. (Harden) felt good. Obviously, we had to make sure he was all right going down the line.
“Our trainers and stuff do a great job and we believe in them 100 percent. I’m looking forward to James being back out there.”
Kendick Perkins went so far to call World Peace “a good dude.”
“So I know he wouldn’t try to hurt nobody,” Perkins said. “It happens and we just hope to have James back for the next game.”

Actually you do bring up a good point. I was going to come into this thread and talk crap about Artest, but your post reminded me how Harden is always getting in people's ears and talking **** all the time.

Harden didn't deserve to get cheap shotted hard like he did, but I can't say he didn't deserve to take a shot of some kind considering the exoribitant amounts of crap the guy talks during games.

Anyway, gotta be honest, considering how much crap he talks, I don't feel bad he got hit. The excessive force of the shot was ridiculous though, and I don't condone that. Stuff like that should never happen in the NBA. I'm not sure which is worse, that, or Bynum's dirty ass play on JJ Barrea last year when the Lakers were getting swept out of the playoffs by the team all Lakers fans were talking about hoping they met in the playoffs all season.

Hopefully Harden's all right. Losing a player right before the playoffs to an injury REALLY sucks. It's extremely demoralizing to fans. I've seen it happen to my team twice during years they were making a title push.

It looks like Artest will get at least a 5 game suspension if not 10. If it's 10, he will miss half or all of the 2nd round. . so the silver lining could be that OKC will get an edge against the Lakers since they won't have to deal with Artest's defense.

Can we get some Mods up in this joint? I have been partially banned from this board for calling T-Wolves fan "Morons" can we do something here?

Really he was getting in his face by trailing the play and getting ready to receive the inbound pass?

Some dudes need to be banned like Meta World Piece of Poo.

That was a cheap shot and I really do not think it was accidental. Artest clearly knew where his elbow was going, he knew where Harden was. The only thing I think was accidental was him using too much power in that elbow.

Artest is weak. A fake tough guy.

Hope Harden is all right.
