To defend the inbound pass? Harden was on offense what do you mean?

There is a huge difference between fouls with excessive and unnecessary contact and punching fouls.

They're actually different fouls in the rules.

The fact that this is a punching foul makes it different relatively to those clotheslines.

More similar to Carmelo Anthony's punch.

Reminds me of when Shaq dunks on that white dude, then pushes him to the ground to make sure he knows he got pwned.

How was JJ acting aggressively toward Artest last postseason? By driving into the lane and scoring on them?

Reading comprehension. And I already gave my view on the Artest/Barea incident.

I just watched the replay again..... Oooo.. My celebration of the dunk really was too much... Didn't even see James ..... Omg... Looks bad

Idiocy like this is just going to get him more games.

Yeps. He keeps this up and he'll get a 2 years ban or something like that. Stern hates this type of stuff. It's like he's making fun of the entire thing.

 Point out where I ever contradicted myself. Just gave my opinion and have stuck with it. Seems like the OKC players agree with me.

'Celebration'. What a crock of ****. Is this guy trolling or can he possibly be so clueless? Didn't see the guy who bumped into you and who you then proceeded to take a swing at? Damage control...

I knew he wasn't going to admit that he hit Harden on purpose, but he should really just STFU. At this point, we have all seen the slo-mo replays and only those that are either blind or stupid will believe he didn't swing his elbow on purpose.

Those don't compare

Artest on Harden was during A DEAD BALL!!! At least those other plays there can be some excuse of trying to play defense.

So you can step on a player's face without severe punishment as long as it's not a dead ball? You can clothesline a player without severe punishment as long as it's not a dead ball. Slippery slope there.

You're confused with where I was going with that. All those videos certainly deserved punishment. No where did I say you could get away with that stuff.

I'm just trying to demonstrate what Artest did was much worse, and which is why he deserves harsher punishment. You can disagree with me on that, but in a day or so when Stern comes out with it you'll see that I'm right

No. What Artest did was bad, but his past and the severity of the injury will do more to influence the outcome of the verdict than the actual act itself. IMO while what Ron did was wrong, I think the worst and most dangerous of all the incidents mentioned was when Love stepped on Scola's face, and let's be real here, Love's "nice guy" image did a lot to limit the punishment he ultimately received from the league.

Basically my position is that it was wrong to throw an elbow like that (even after getting caught up in the moment), but that he was throwing the elbow to clear space, not give someone a concussion. I don't think that deserves a lifetime ban lol. 3 games max imo

Elbow to the head is way worse then stepping on chest. Not even close, especially with how hard he swung.

The best thing for Artest to do right now is to log off the computer ... just stay far away from the computer.

His publicist needs to be fired if he/she is allowing Artest to make twitter comments after a n incident like this.

All he needed to do was come out publicly and explain the situation and apologize, after that NOTHING ELSE should be said.

Who stepped on who's chest? We're talking about Love stepping on his face not his chest :-?

Do you even watch the NBA? Players often bump into each other after a made basket/on ensuing inbound play. Artest OBVIOUSLY did this on purpose and you have to be delusional to think otherwise.

I've seen his bump the chest routine a numerous occasions and not ONCE does he raise an elbow and swing it back violently. Even if no one was there, why would you swing your elbow like that? Do the motion for me right now. Can you honestly say he did that as a celebration?
