Even though I hope Mavs beat OKC in the first round, I'll be content with seeing the payback if OKC and LAL meet in the 2nd round

Me two! I really would like to see an OKC/MIA Finals after that.
There seems to be some bad blood there as well.

Crazy game but seriously i knew before logging into Realgm tonight that this would steal the story of the game instead of the fact that the Lakers played hero ball and came back from 18 points to win in double OT
Well there's a strong chance OKC wins comfortably if the elbow didn't happen. So even without future implications, it was the story.

I don't want to hear anyone marginalizing this, and that it was in the moment.
I refrained from posting until after the game, but fact is that there is no way to sugarcoat it. It was a dirty thing to do.
If this was done to Gasol or Bynum by Perkins there would be hell from Laker fans...
Yeah... you have some Laker fans marginalizing what Artest did...

You don't gloat about your team getting dunked on. Your theory doesn't make sense, and it is far more likely it was one of many countless times that players bump into each other because one guy is running back and the other is trying to run to the ball to get the inbounds pass. In any event, I wouldn't want to have to rely on Artest now. He'll almost certainly be gone for quite a long time.

Harden side steps to get a piece of MWP. I'm sure he was just getting into position for the inbounds as well when Westbrook is entirely open on the other side and is the PG and all.
He's not gloating about the team getting dunked on, but trying to draw a tech or throw MWP off a bit.
Yes players bump each other going back down the court unintentionally, but sometimes it's intentional.
Stop being so naive.

Artest has a history of doing crap like this and will have a severe penalty coming his way. The league wont have the balls to perma ban him cause Stu Jackson is a severe pansy when it comes to this, but to think hell get only 3 games is silly. At the very least 10 games or a playoff series. The most reasonable: out for the year. More severe: until 10-20 games next season.
Agree with everything you have said.
Other players in the league have much more sane ways of "brushing guys off" or "standing their ground." Artest tries to elbow them. Can't happen.
I would say Harden is lucky that he wasn't hurt severely, but he was elbowed in the friggin head by a 6'9" psycho. Ron does some great things off the court, but on it he is a liability to the other players and even fans.
Exactly. The guy is proving to be too volatile and clearly a danger to others from his well documented history of behavioural problems. People are looking at this too lightly. This shot could have been Kermit Washington part 2 if Artest hits anything but the spot he hit. Harden has a case if he wanted to take it to court or push the league or the NBAPA to get a serious punishment on the guy. Make no mistake, this was just as bad as a sucker punch.
Harden is in a bed resting a concussion. This was serious enough as is and everyone is lucky it wasnt anything worse. just because Artest cant control his emotions and it took a dangerous turn today. I think the time to give Artest a heavy suspension is well warranted and I hope this loose cannon fades out of the league before he gives anyone else more than a concussion.

Come one, Bynum got 5 games for doing something dangerous for the third time and when it was obvious the team was gonna lose, meaning he had nothing to lose by doing a hit. World Peace, while having a bad reputation, hasn't really done something to this degree before. Also, the danger between the two incidents and the potential harm is basically a push in my opinion, Barea getting hit in mid-air while being much smaller and Harden getting a full speed elbow to the head area. Looking at this thread: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1111232&start=15 , it seems Realgm tends to over react when it comes to suspensions. Don't be surprised if it is anywhere from 2-5 games, with emphasis on the 3.

Peace was just doing his King Kong celebration and Harden was just in the way.
I would say 3 game suspension, it should be 2, but Peace has a history.

I'd bet on the schizophrenic part.

And sadly it's mostly the same rants just laid out differently. It's over and some need to move on. Metta will get his punishment, and then when that's handed out and it's not what guys here thought he would get it's going another 100 pages !RamonsLakers wrote:Holy cow, 70 pages is overdoing it don't y'all think?

LOL, draw a tech for what? They simply brushed by each other. That happens all the time and there was nothing that would have resulted in a tech until Artest decided he was going to clock Harden. Anyways, if you think he isn't going to face a LOOOOONG suspension you're gonna be pretty disappointed.

You should find someone to take that bet. You'd be handing money over pretty quickly. Not a chance he gets less than what Bynum did.
