I think with Nash and Hill knowing how to take of themselves by now, adding two other older guys, they could all work together to stay healthy. It won't all be on the med staff.

I think Kerrsed's idea seem along the lines of what our FO would do. Babby being Ray's old agent is interesting. Does that mean he will get a four year deal starting at around $6 million a year and increasing from there, like Chilldress?

if you wanna keep nash go out and find a solid sg ala allen or crawford, a solid wing who defends
and find a big body who takes defense serious

i would like to add camby to this team, he plays solid defense and has a great mentality,
let´s see if we can sign crwaford and camby, maybe sign someone like gerald wallace and
all the sudden you compete for the ring. but i extremly doubt that the suns will ever look
like a contender

I think our identity will be of a rebuilding team. In my eyes, Nash is gone, so we will be forced to rebuild. As for Camby, he wont be leaving Houston. I wanted to get him on the "Old Mans Suns Team" i created, but everything i read has said that he only wanted to play in HOU, and he wants to retire there. So im sure us getting Camby is a no go.

Gerald Wallace will also be extremely hard to get. New Jersey paid a high price for him, and i dont see them just letting him walk away. If any team outbids them, they will match and S&T him.

If for some ungodly reason Nash stays, i see only 2 major FA signings. Ray Allen at SG and Antawn Jamison at PF. Jamison is a Vet. He was just announced as a finalist for the NBA Sportsmanship Award for his 2 year tour in Cleveland. He's been putting in some good numbers on a crappy Cavs team, and for the month of January was averaging 21/9/2. At 35 years old, his price tag will be dropping alot and he will be looking for a team. He really seems like a "Suns Type" of player to me.

Cheap veteran PF with a high IQ and a great attitude that can put up good numbers. Check!

Ray Allen is Ray Allen. Lights out shooter with high IQ. Plays hard with heart all game long. doesnt take games/plays off. He's looking at signing with a contender for a great price, and said :

Just from what I see around the NBA, there’s a lot of teams that look forward to having me. I just want to be somewhere where I’m valued, cherished and I can go out and play.”

Allen added that getting a multi-year contract would help him make his decision. He wants more security than a one-year deal, which Boston is likely to offer, would provide.

2 year deal. 2 years window. Nash gets 2 year deal. Allen gets a 2 year deal ($5M per). Jamison gets a 2 year deal ($5M per). Suns re-sign Redd/Hill and let Lopez walk. The salary we pass on giving Lopez , around $5M a season, could pay for a year of one of our new vets.

That is what i see our FO doing if Nash stays. 2 simple pick-ups. It improves the team. Nothing flashy. Keeps our future capspace in good standing (2014). We improve our bench by improving our starters. They might not be as big of moves that we the fans would like, but most trades arnt. Would i rather have KG, or Smith, or Milsap, or Brand over Jamison? Yes. But how likely is it we can get one of those guys? Nil to none. How likely is it Jamison would sign with us? High. Would i rather get Gordon or Mayo rather than Allen? Of course. Will those guys be in demand and get high dollar contracts? Yes. Will some team overpay for them? Yes. Would Allen sign a 2 year deal with us for a lot cheaper? You betcha!

thos could happen, i also think that we may breathe some air back in the bodies of elton brand and or kevin garnett...

but we could also going behind some guys like goran, amundson and barbosa.. haha steve would love it, i guess ))))

I see Brand has been mentioned. I've read somewhere that there is a very good chance Philly could use the amnesty on him.

Also, this was written about Jamal Crawford today:

Also, another guy who has regressed this season (and pretty much every season) is OJ Mayo. He is at an all time low in fg% this year at 40.5%, and this is going against reserves for the most part, as he has been coming off the bench the entire year. Check out his decline in minutes, production and efficiency each year.

Sure he would likely be better with Nash (but how much longer will Nash be around, if at all?), but he's certainly not worth big money. Ray Allen would be much more efficient with Nash anyway, with his basketball iq and much higher shooting percentage.

Shannon Brown, Jamal Crawford and OJ Mayo all have one thing in common. They are shooting guards that really aren't all that good of shooters (though Shannon Brown is the best of the bunch this year at 41%)

1.) Draft Quincy Miller or Perry Jones III with our pick
2.) Sign OJ Mayo (to a reasonable contract, 3 yr)
3.) Re-sign Nash (2 yr), Hill (1 yr), and Brooks (3 yr)

1st/2nd Units:

PG- Nash/Brooks
SG- Mayo/Dudley (interchangeable)
SF- Hill/Miller or Jones III
PF- Frye/Morris
C- Gortat/Lopez

That would give us two really solid units and the ability to rest Nash and Hill without great worries. We would also have a decent team when Nash and Hill retire, after the Miller/Jones III learn defense under Hill and Brooks learns how to distribute the ball under Nash. A little tutelage from Hill could go very far for the draft pick's defense, as both Miller and Jones III have the physical tools to be great.

I sure don't. I want us to get a legit shooter to play 2 or 3 to start along with Dudley. If Hill really wants to start, he should go to a team that relies mostly on their big men for scoring and be their defensive specialist (like Tony Allen does for Memphis or Avery Bradley for Boston). We NEED the spacing in our offense, and someone who isn't afraid to take an open 3 pt shot.

But, I agree, if he takes a lot less money to come off the bench, that would be a great role for him.
