His college coach left for lsu. Early word is that he's leaning towards leaving.

i've already dedicated too many posts about tyreke.
quite frankly i think he's awful. talented, but awful. he made his name off of a terrible brand of individual basketball that led to bad tendencies that will take yrs to get out of his system, if at all.
he's not a PG. is ball-dominant, but not good enough to be ball-dominant at this level. cant shoot well (cant shoot at all) enough to play off the ball. he can get to the hoop, but because he lacks great quickness, he has to take a lot of time off the clock to do so unless he gets a head of steam via a really high ball screen or a 2ndary break. creative finisher with his length and strength but doesnt have the leaping ability to make mid-air adjustments.
seems a bit heavy, with heavy legs. has the type of build that can put on bad weight if he doesnt stay on top of his conditioning.

Thanks, and I pretty much agree with all that.

well i think he is a first round talent, which seems to be not a common sentiment.
im high on him and think he'll be a valuable role player for whoever selects him. he's physically strong, good, not great athleticism, can defend the perimeter, hold his own in the post vs some undersized 4's and is willing to sacrifice his body. he's got a crazy motor and is super competitive, but stays within his means. he's not much of a ball-handler but he is a very good passer and possesses an easy stroke beyond college 3.

i dont like what i've read about what he plans to do though. he says he wants to lose 20 lbs to try to become a 2. i think that would be a mistake because one of his greatest attributes is his physicality. i think his best position is the 3 while sliding over occasionally to the small ball 4. i think he's most likely a bench player but because of his heady play, ability to hit open jumpers and defend both on and off the ball, he could easily be a starter on a good team.

you can keep your money.
he's not a lotto talent and i cant think of one good reason why a good team or a team on the cusp of being good would want wroten.
he has first round talent with a 3rd round mentality and a 4th round brain.

Pretty much... although I've seen progress as the year's gone by. Still, 100% for sure, some GM is going to talk himself into taking a chance on Wroten. Probably with a lottery pick.

If Jae Crowder goes ahead of Tony Wroten, I will laugh hysterically for like 20 minutes.

No one is going to pass on a player with Wroten's potential to take a guy who is a role player at absolute best.

the potential to be what? another javaris crittenton?
players as dumb as wroten usually dont reach their potential so i dont really care what his potential is.

To be another Tyreke Evans. I'm no huge fan of Wroten, but he is a vastly superior prospect to Crowder.

Wroten is terrible. He's a poor man's Tyreke Evans, who's terrible himself.

if he reaches his potential he's another tyreke evans? thats only an if. and how valuable to his team is tyreke evans? if that's his upside then the reward isnt worth the risk (opportunity cost) or wait.
if i was a GM, i would be looking to bring positive value to the team. wroten, even if he pans out isnt that valuable of a player imo since he plays a losing brand of basketball, whereas crowder can be a versatile, positive contributor on both ends from the jump and will be able to fit in with any personnel.

I think Jeff Taylor would make a good notSonic, however, I'd apprciate it very much if you would let Nicholson slip to #28.
