NY Yanks (9-6) @ Texas Rangers (13-3): No Holdem poker

Post#1 » by Dr. Detfink » Mon Apr 23, 2012 6:30 am

For Girardi haters, look no further than Ron "cocaine train" Washington.

Every time the Yanks face Texas, it's apparent Joe is his own worst enemy. While Torre doesn't do adjustments, Girardi at times over thinks a situation. Now against managers that strategize, Girardi is skilled at playing up to the challenge. Against managers that do like nothing....Joe implodes.

Good barometer reading for the Yankee rotation that hasn't established itself. CC Sabbathia hasn't had that game where he's looked like an ace for some time now. Pineda might be back by All-star break. Kuroda gets too cute when he gets a hitter in a 3-1 count and assumes he'll take strike two. Hughes doesn't trust his breaking pitch. Garcia is waiting for Pettitte.

Only Ivan Nova is playing his game...there's a problem. He is pitching against Detroit.

Pitching match ups:

Sabbathia v. Holland

Kuroda v Darvish

Hughes v Feldman

Match ups on paper favor the Yanks but we'll see...

Oh look, Jeter has 4 hits. I'm tired of seeing him on base every game. We should have gotten rid of him last season like many of you suggested.

Why are these boards so dead? UGH. Anyone know any good Yankee boards that are not on Yankees.com or ESPN.com?

Just look at the Knicks forum, more active doesn't necessarily mean better unless you're running a site off ads.

The best forums are tight knit that push each other's knowledge.

Forgot to give A-Rod some love. Bet they remember him in Texas.

Kuroda v Darvish match up should be VERY fun.

Jeter is on an absolute tear lately. I love how everyone says year after year, this is the year hell decline and show rust and then he comes out and has a great year. Last year it took him that trip to the DL to get back into his form but it was smooth sailing after that.

CC looked like CC last night. 2 of those runs don't happen if A-Rod and Tex make relatively routine plays for them at 3rd and 1st. Besides that bump, and the Hamiltion HR(which I'm not mad about the guy is just a machine) he was locked in and mowing down the Rangers.

Tonights Japan pitchers duel is going to be really fun to watch.

I've said this all along...People are going to regret, trying to tear Jeter down.

Let's be clear. He's done NOTHING on the field to warrant any kind of negativity.

Jeter's greatest gift is consistency and the ability to make the right decisions at the most critical times. This is a talent that is not going to show up in any stat book or any sabermetrics.

I'm so glad he's continuing to make the doubters eat crow.

Kuroda is a bum.

We'd be better off with AJ than Javy Vazquez 2.

Naw. Kuroda is fine. He's just not a power pitcher in the AL. He tries cute stuff and when it creeps back over the plate, it's gone!

He needs to keep going down and away....down and away. The Leo Mazzone way.

I'm just shocked at his lack of composure. I thought we were getting a pro's pro.

well that was a frustrating end to the inning. I don't mind Kuroda in the slightest, although he'd be looking much better as a 3 or 4 rather than the number 2 guy at the moment.

Yea, I definitely see Kuroda as a #3 or #4.

Yanks are wearing Darvish down but not fast enough as Kuroda concedes another run.
