I will be upset if he does this without playing for the team that pays him in the playoffs.

I see it as an opportunity to rehab and get some game action even if it's against inferior competition. The tournament is 2 months away so he should be fully healthy by then and if he's limited or unable to go during the playoffs I'd even strongly recommend that he do it otherwise he would be in a situation where he would have played/practiced all of 3 weeks of organized basketball in over a year especially once you factor in the lockout.

What they get in playoffs salary is totally ridiculous (what's why I always thought it would be good to put a big part of the contract depending on the playoffs results to get motivated players)
It's not the exact numbers, but each players makes nearly $20k for two rounds of playoffs (said ATL is out in Eastern Semi-finals like last year).

I'm sure he meant, "I will be upset if he does this without playing for the team that pays him," where "without playing" means the playoffs. That team pays him $12 million.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.
