CCJ, any coincidence that Wall played like a better version of February ball with Crawford out of the lineup??

This game and Wall's recent stretch of high assist games is why its a mistake to decide how good a 21 yr old is so early in his career. Look at Ves and Seraphin too. How many people called them absolute busts after less than a full season or two?

Agreed. I'd love to bring in Beal/Harden and dump Crawford. I'm thinking it would be addition by subtraction just like McGee, Blatche and Young.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Nationals pitching staff is so darned good.

I enjoy watching half innings when we're in the field better than when we're batting.

Amazing stuff 1-5... With the Wanger in the wings

And all of them signed through I think '16. The Nats are going to have an unbelievable staff. Hopefully they end up looking like the braves, but playing playoff baseball like the nineties and early aughts yankees did. 6th youngest team in baseball, still have uber prime prospects on the farm including '12's league best haul. It's incredible. If they can get healthier, get Harper, and hit better they could make the playoffs. Hell even former top 6 pick Detwiller, considered a total bust just a year ago has become what he was originally seen as, a fireballing lefty w/great movement and fantastic stuff. Hes finally pitching with confidence and consistency, and his quality play now stretches back nearly 15 starts. He could be the real deal on top of Strass, Zimm, and Gio. Not to mention Meyer, and Purke. Just amazing. And Rendon, Goodwin, Harper and others in the wings. It's a great time to be a Nats fan.

Watching the game, is there any doubt that Wall would be playing better w/o Crawford in the starting lineup? The spacing is so much better with a better shooter at the 2, and that gets even better when Singleton goes to the bench. This game emphasizes the need for a 2 guard who can move w/o the ball, but can also play the pump fake dribble drive game effectively. Is that Beal's game?

Wall's last 4 games: 16 pps/ 12.5 apg on 47.2% shooting

Crawford's last 3 games coinciding with Wall's surge: 13.6ppg on 35.9% shooting (And this 3 game sample includes a 32 pt outing v Milwaukee)

My guess is that Wall's post trade funk had to do with his struggling to play with Crawford and integrating new teammates/ lineups. He let his struggles get in his head and ruin his confidence so he has to be accountable here as well.

Beal plays a lot like Harden with better range on his jumper. He has a smart, skill-based game and he knows where to be on the court. So, yes, that's his game. It is difficult to imagine a more perfect guard to play alongside John Wall, unless you wanted to imagine Beal with 2-3 more inches of height.

Just tossing it out there...If we get the #2 pick, would you be willing to move down 2 spots to 4 if a team wanted to move up for Robinson. The risk obviously is we may get left with MKG instead of Beal.
