What team makes the most sense for Nash next season?

There has been talk about the Heat, but I just don't think that is really a good fit. Then they would have THREE players used to having the ball in their hands. I don't think Nash would want to play off the ball for less money....he is not really driven only for a chance at a ring.

Knicks don't make much sense to me either, considering Melo couldn't play in D'Antoni's system, which Nash has played in for the last 7 years, and I don't see them meshing well.

What team could really use a floor general that has a chance to contend? Off the top of my head, I think of Atlanta and Indiana. Utah might make sense too, but I'm not completely sure he would go to any of those places.

It seems like he might just stay in Phx.

They have the perfect players for his game....a big guy to finish in the middle along with guys that can spread the floor and hit the 3.

Would be interesting if Orlando fired SVG and hired D'Antoni to see if that would be enough for Nash to accept a sign and trade with them or take the mid level. And furthermore, if that would make Dwight stay in Orlando even though Nash only has a few seasons left.

He can't go to Miami or any other team expected to make it to the Finals and keep his bull image in place. He has to go to a team that people thinks needs a leader. I say the Hawks would be the perfect place for the old bastard

Indiana could be a good fit. They had the 5th best record in the NBA behind the Bulls, Heat, Spurs and Thunder. Point guard was their weakest link most of the season.

if nash goes to the heat his role WILL be reduced, but for a chance at a title. if it was about the money wouldn't he just stay in phoenix?

Yes, but I don't think it is ALL about the money...his family is in Phx, he is close to his teammates. I don't think he would want to just be a role player just for a chance at a title...but he would love to play a part in a team that has a chance in the playoffs to advance.

A sign and trade with Atlanta would be interesting, if the Suns traded like him and Lopez for Josh Smith and Teague.

Yeah, I agree....but would you want to do a sign and trade to rid yourselves of other salaries (Collison for one, perhaps Granger) and perhaps take someone else back?

Or just add him, use Collison as a backup and keep your current squad intact?

I wouldn't trade Granger for him. You can have Collison. He would never play. Pacers might throw in Hansbrough.

We would have George Hill, Dahntay Jones, Lance Stephenson, and Jeff Pendergraph on the bench. We could draft a big or sign one or two in free agency. We have a Euro bigman, Stanko Barac, who might come over too. We'd probably try to resign Lou Amundson too. He's been good for us this season.

I don't get the Steve Nash to NY thing. Maybe if Mike D was still coaching. But with Baron + Lin... why would they still want Nash? I have a bad feeling he's going to sign with Miami
