Does Miami own their pick this year?
I'd take that trade over losing him for nothin obviously. Really should have tried to trade him before the deadline. This was a wasted year for us and Steve.

I mean say MIA offers Nash a deal, does he sign with them or let us sign and trade him for say Chalmers/#28 pick? I mean it wouldnt be that much in return, but would help us a little. Its proven that rookies very very very rarely help a contending team or get any burn. With Miami having Chalmers/Cole on the payrole, it helps them eliminate a contract that they wont have a need for with Nash on board.
I actually started a similar type thread on the general board. IF he wanted a sign and trade, I see Atlanta (of course I would like a Josh Smith/Teague trade for him and Lopez) or possibly Orlando for something, because Orlando has the type of players that fit the system (especially if they fired SVG and hired D'Antoni)....Dwight in the middle and 3 pt shooters spreading the floor (JRich, Anderson, Reddick).
Just not sure who we would want back from the Magic...heck, maybe he would sign their for the mid level in those circumstances. By the way, as I mentioned before, I posted a thread on the general board mostly to see where fans of other teams think/hope he would go, so if you are interested in reading or chiming in, here it is... viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1177415

They do own it. Most mocks have them selecting Fab Melo there, which i wouldnt mind developing.
Pacers are another team with a late 1st that i could see wanting 3 years of Nash for their play-off push.
Nash/George/Granger/West/Hibbert would be an awesome team to watch. I have seen some Pacers posters talk about signing Nash as a FA, but i think their FO might try to stay a bit younger and go after Dragic or retain Hill. But still, if they wanted Nash and he was open to a S&T that doesnt impact their team very much, a Collison/1st or Stevenson/1st seems somewhat fee-sable.

He would be great on the Magic, but as you said, they have very little that we want. Maybe Clark back or Orton and their pick. The Major issue i have with the Magic is i think Howard is gone. I think the Magic will trade him off in the offseason and start over. They wont be looking for an aging PG when they move Dwight. Hell, they are still stuck paying Nelson $8.5M next season.
No way does Atlanta give up Smith/Teague for Nash/Lopez. They are really high on Teague, as they should be, i could see them maybe doing Smith/Teague for Nash/Gortat. Maybe.
Another idea is NY. Shumpert/2013 1st for Nash. I know they have Lin and Davis, but Nash is good friends with Davis, and i could actually see them playing Baron at the 2 next to Nash with Lin being his back-up. Nash/Davis/Melo/Amare/Chandler and Lin/Smith/Novack/Jefferies/????.

So you say Alex Kennedy is reliable eh? Interesting.....
Alex Kennedy: Steve Nash is likely playing his final minutes as a member of the Phoenix Suns. He'll likely join a contender this summer. about 4 hours ago
Here are what some of the other sports writers had to say tonight....
J. Michael Falgoust: Nash isn't coming back to #Suns. They need to get younger and truly rebuild. And he wants to play for a contender #nba about 4 hours ago
J. Michael Falgoust: #Suns lose 110-106 to #Spurs. Say Farewell to Nash and probably Hill. Phx is a great place but both of these guys wanna win #nba about 4 hours ago
Jeff McDonald: Steve Nash: "It meant a lot to me to play in a city like this for as long as I have." ... is the past tense telling? about 3 hours ago
Brett Pollakoff: It felt like Steve Nash has played his last game for the Phoenix Suns. http://bit.ly/IpO92d about 1 hour ago

"I love playing for Coach Gentry."
Is the present tense telling?
I hate the speculation. We'll find out soon enough. Until then, let's just enjoy the ride.

To many "likely" "propably" "felt like" in these quotes. I'd rather trust Nash at the moment when he says that he doesn't know what he'll do. Too many speculation at this point.
Hill on Nash going to the Lakers: “That’s like transferring from Duke and going to Carolina.”

They're getting new uniforms next season? Is it official?

Re: Nash: won't stay if Suns don't 'upgrade' roster
I saw all those tweets on hoopshype too, but I don't think anyone has any insight into Nash's mind. I think it has to make total sense for him to sign somewhere on multiple levels.
I think it would need to be an offense with a lot of ball movement, and not a bunch of iso or ball stopping guys. They would have to be teams that are either are a contender, or by adding him, would be a contender. I think the money has to at least be competitive with what Phx would offer.
I just can't think of a team that really makes perfect sense for him, except maybe Indiana or Portland. Or possibly sign and trades with Atlanta or Utah.
I'd rather lose him to Miami as a free agent than sign and trade for Chalmers. I'd rather preserve cap space for better players.

They dont have any insight yet, they're just going by what they believe.
Most NBA analyst think he's gone.
