Kobe needs 38 pt for scoring title

So Kobe's going to get flack for trying to win a scoring title while David Robinson gets no flack for what he pulled to win a scoring title? Sounds fair. Was that last game for the Spurs any less meaningless than this game for the Lakers? If the Lakers start intentionally fouling the opposition to get the Lakers more possessions so Kobe can get 38 points then you complain.

The only way I have a problem with something like this is if a player purposely pulls himself from a game to keep a record. If a player purposely didn't play the last game because he had a lead in the scoring title and didn't want to blow it then that is wrong. Just as embarrassing as what Jose Reyes did in his last game with the Mets. One hit one at-bat and pull yourself from the game because you want some sort of accomplishment for someone who is the most overrated player in baseball.

I'm hoping for 150-149 triple OT game with Kobe scoring 75 points including hitting 4 last-second shots to tie or win the game :-)

And, just for more fun, Eyenga scores 30 and has a triple double!

You see it doesn't matter if Durant goes for the title, we don't have an agenda against Durant. That Kobe dude on the other hand ? ESPN rides his jock so much so to offset that we have to hate everything he does and magnify his shortcomings, but in game threads we also act like the biggest Kobe fanboys whenever he's playing well. That's just how we roll on RealGM.

It should matter. A +0.1 point scoring average doesn't help a team as much as 200 more points scored in total. Measuring scoring titles by the average is pure BS.

Efficiency is important, too. I still don't get why a player gets named the better scorer when he needed to take 200 shot attempts more for 100 points more than another player. That's BS, too.

If that was Kobe he would had been crucified for gunning for the scoring title and costing his team the win.

Durant plays the last two meanless games, shot jacks and almost loses both games and no one said anything.

but now its Kobe's turn and everyone is in an uproar.

The fact is. The same people criticizing him now is the same people who don't have a favorable opinion of him.

Question for all those claiming Kobe cares about playing for the fans. If Kobe has the scoring title entering tonight game, but he will lose it if he doesn't score at least 30pt, will Kobe still ask to play?

If Kobe cared so much about the scoring title, why has he attempted 20 or fewer fg's in 4 of the last 5 games? (The only game with over 20fgas was in double ot)

Why wait until the last game of the year to start caring?

I can't wait for the game. I'm going to make it into a drinking game.

Drink every time Kobe makes a shot. Hopefully I'll have a headache in the morning. I think we may get to see some 05', 06' Kobe especially if they bench Gasol and Bynum which I think they will.
