Who do you drop from the rotation

Post#1 » by This IsMy House » Tue Apr 24, 2012 3:57 pm

Assuming all goes as planned and Andy makes it back to the Bronx next month who do you drop from the Girardi made it seem pretty clear that he wanted to keep him in the rotation (not sure why at all). I really hope they don't drop Nova who's been one of their most consistent starters since last year behind CC. I don't want them to start moving him around and messing with his head and arm the way they have with Joba and Hughes.

I'd much rather drop Garcia now into the pen or wherever for Andy, and then if Pineda ever decides to get healthy maybe move Hughes to the pen. Its a good thing finally that the Yankees might have too many pitchers, because its seemed for a while there that they had no pitching and just a ton of bats.

Girardi wouldn't dare drop Nova from the rotation, if he does he's an even bigger idiot than I thought. If Pineda's is out longer than one predicted I could see Hughes dropping out of the rotation with hopes that he can become that elite reliever he was in the past. If Pinedas comes back early and Freddy Garcia keeps sucking he'll probably get DFA'd.

Sabathia
Pettitte
Kuroda
Nova
Pineda/Garcia

Will probably be the rotation by the end of May.

They would probably drop hughes and bring him back to his old bulpen roll from a couple seasons ago when he was pitching very well.

With Pineda out, it's clear that Yanks went from being one of the youngest to the oldest with Kuroda, Pettitte, and Garcia left to back CC...

I really think they need to go out and get another pitcher or bring someone up from the minors. The starters are getting shelled and at this rate the bullpen will be dead by June.
