Ideal SF for me, and would fit Casey's hard nosed defensive approach. But the way we're positioning ourselves in the draft we're closer to acquiring a Quincy Miller than an MKG

What an odd idea for a bunch of threads.

I haven't had a lick of thought about this guy joining our lineup next year. It won't happen anyways.

If we ended up with the #2 or #3 pick then I would bet Colangelo drafts MKG.

His stock is really high now, but he needs to be in a good situation to succeed... he is not a go-to-guy, he's a great role player... he is not even an option on offense really, just a guy that is good in the open court, good on defense, plays with the right mindset... if he ends up on a team devoid of talent like Charlotte he will seem like a bust (he needs good players around him to fulfill his potential)

It's hard not to like the guy, but players from championship teams are always overrated

We don't even talk about him because we know the odds of entering the top 3 are slim to none.

Can someone enlighten me on him? From what I've read he looks like the second coming of Marvin Williams. Doesn't seem to have star potential, so why is his draft stock so high?

I'm predicting MKG slips on draft night. I just think most teams ahead of us can make a compelling argument to take other players ahead of MKG and that he is going to have an anxious wait in the green room. His stock right now is inflated, more than any other player in the lottery and it doesn't match his current skill-set/upside.

I'd say there is a decent chance he is still on the board when the warriors pick. The problem for the raptors is that they will likely take him!

The threads of Anthony Davis, MKG, Beal should all be relocated to the Bobcats, Wiz, Cavs(puke) forums

I agree that he'll slip, but not that far. I think he'll be the first wing taken, but some of the bigs will probably go higher. I could see two of Sully, Drummond, Robinson, PJIII go 2nd, 3rd, and then MKG will go 4th or maybe 5th.

Teams that lose a lot of games and pick high in the lottery get a hard-on for guys with a "winners mentality". MKG will be a good player in the league, but I see him not meeting the high expectations of a top 5 pick.

I think MKG is the gold standard. He might not be a good fit on Charlotte, for example, but he basically fits our "job posting" like a glove. I hope against hope that we can find a way to move up and snag him. He would reinforce our cultural shift, for starters, and come in with the reputation of not only playing hard (which is largely subjective) but as a noted winner (which is not), having never seen anything else. If it means losing our 2013 first, so be it. The obsession with 'depth' is killing us, though, imho; I don't think the 'interchangeability' between our first and second units is necessarily a good thing.

I don't want to break down his game under a microscope. That's been done many times over. I just think this is a player/attitude we need to acquire and we need to find a way to do it (like the Washington Redskins and RG3, for example). Tony Wroten, Terrence Jones and Dion Waiters are all promising kids, but they don't make sense in Toronto right now for all the reasons in the world- most of which have nothing to do with them.

I'm predicting Beal & Barnes go ahead of MKG on draft night.

We don't do a lot right (see LeBron's supporting cast) but this was a masterful tank job. From flirting with the playoffs to 3rd seed in 20-something games. :D
