i think our main need is for aball handler/playmaker. nelson is good but can't handle it all game like elite point guards and hedo can't handle anymore either. tony wroten should be there for us at 18.

an athletic defensive wing is our second most need. like someone already mentioned jeff taylor would be a good pick.

Why is pick #22 plus Anderson for pick #11 so difficult to imagine?

Ryan will be a free agent, I don't think we can trade him on draft night.

I hope we can package players and move up, or get additional picks. Everyone is expendable, even Dwight if he sure he wants out.

Jonathan Givony ‏ @DraftExpress
According to @SpearsNBAYahoo, Quincy Miller has changed his mind and has elected to enter the draft. Will hire Dwon Clifton as his agent.

DX currently has him going #18, NBA.com has him #22 (we are currently tied @ #20)

Tonight is the NFL Draft and early indications are The Magic will have the 18th pick in this year's NBA Draft.

Depends on Denver's and Dallas' games tonight.

denver is winning and dallas is losing. where would that put us? this would be our highest draft pick in years and i believe we can find a rotation player 1-20 in this draft.

18 is good, very good.

That puts us in reach for guys like Terrence Ross and Quincy Miller.

Actually, it looks like #19.

My bad.

That's still a pretty good pick though.

Magic need to take best player available regardless of position.

Copied my post from TBN:

I get that Ryno is our most attractive piece, but you guys are willing to trade him in the blink of an eye. Has he not proved to be improving on his all around game? His inside passes to Dwight from the top of the key are prime Shard like. His post game will improve with offseason work, and he's already K-Love lite rebounding both defensively and offensively (which has been shown in spades w/ Dwight OUT). I'd be thrilled to be able to keep him, and yes flame away, more or less build around him in the post Dwight era. I still have high hopes if the Nets get their top 3 protected pick we could trade Dwight for it along with Brooks and Wallace for Dwight, Hedo, and someone like J-Rich.

You then have Nelson and Redick (if Nelson doesn't opt out) as an expiring package possibly for a trade, a young SG in Brooks, Wallace's expiring and skillset for next year, plus one of the following: Davis, MKG, Beal. Throw in Big Baby, and hopefully the improving rookies of last year Harper and Liggins, AND our pick in 2012 which could be a guy like Rivers, Teague, Wroten, etc and we have a young team with capspace to still play with in 2013 AND SVG coaching them up.

I'd be excited for a rebuild like that if you ask me. But I'm also an idiot so who knows. But this looks on paper to be a mighty fun team.

Nelson, Rookie PG, Duhon
Brooks, Redick (Beal?), Liggins
Wallace, (MKG?) Clark
Anderson, Harper
Baby, (Davis?)

Probably won't win you alot of games, but with cap space and then a potential top pick in 2013 with guys like Nerlens Noel, Zeller, McAdoo, and Shabazz available? The future would be so bright I'd have to wear shades.

I'm not interested in trading Dwight, not at all.

draft express' new updated version has us taking terrence jones from kentucky at 19. i doubt he falls that far but i dont like him either way he reminds me of the morris twins from last year. i really hope rivers falls far enough for us to get him

Weird, it still shows him going at 11 for me. If he does slide down to 19, I'd take him if we can't get a good PG in the draft. He can replace Ryan, or plays SF if Ryan stays. The guy can play good defense and we desperately need that.

This is going to be an exciting draft and Magic fans have not had one in a while.

Teams are going to have players rated differently and there could be some exciting names that slip to #19.

I'm pumped.
