PJ3 it is! (Thanks NJ...) Most upside of anyone in this draft IMO. Even AD.

If we don't move anywere in the draft and stay at 7/8, I think this may very well be our pick. Would be content with it but would prefer to move up.

Talent is where it's at. I'm good with a PJIII pick

Why would we need another PF?

 We both agree. At 8-9 this is very good value.

We need talent

Ell Curry made a great comparison in another thread, Bargnani is basically a younger version of old Antawn Jamison in impact on the game. We don't need to draft anyone unless they're truly top 10 talents at their position, and nobody on our team is

I'd be happy with PJIII if he's the best guy left when we pick, he's one of the few guys that actually has the physical tools and skillset to be a real star in the league imo, and after seeing what he was able to do with Bargs this year, I think Casey is the perfect coach to get him to play up to his potential.

Some will disagree and they can until they're blue in the face BUT Perry won't be sh*t in this league unless he's a SF. He's not physical enough and doesn't rebound well enough to be a PF and more importantly he moves much more like a SF. He looks like a slower, less agile McGrady with no heart....if Casey can beat some sense into him then we have the biggest steal in the draft on our hands (well minus Drummond lol).

I said it before this awful win that if we ended up here (8+) that I draft Perry and swing for the fences or trade this pick away.

I think the raptors are one of the teams where PJIII can succeed, we've got a coach that demands a lot out of his players, and wont let him coast on being the 1st round pick.

If we end up with 8th pick and (Davis, Beal, MKG, Robinson, Bdrummond, Lamb, Barnes) are all gone I'm all for going after PJIII the only other player I would want at that position is maybe Marshall

I would love PJIII at the 3. Not quite sure he's there or could play it, but I sure as hell take that risk if that's where our pick lies. I think alot of the success/failure of this draft will depend on obtaining a second first round pick.

I'm still very intrigued by him, despite all of the warning signs I saw when watching him.

Going by that interview, if he was joking I like his sense of humor at least. He said the thing about customs so dead pan that he's either a jerk, or has a great comedic delivery. Best thing in there was he blatantly said we were better than a US city ie. Dallas. Nice to see he at least liked it here.
Still don't know if I want someone on the team who was comfortable being just an ok player on his college team, but I do understand that some posters want a home run pick. We have no genuinely great talent here. None. Taking a risk may not be the worst thing we can do.

If we're the ones to draft him here's the thing.....Shawn Marion.....is not a great shooter, is not that quick but had great length and moves fast enough (PJ is not THAT slow and is actually quite damn mobile hence the high "potential"). I would argue that at this point PJ3 is just as capable of playing as well as Marion does and arguebly better as he has much better shooting mechanics, probably equal or better range, probably quicker yet he's bigger and Casey turned Marion into a defensive beast (hardly something he was known for prior to DAL). Add to that DC has made JJ and Bargnani (two terribly inconsistent players) consistent, not sure to what extent he can for Jones BUT if he even gets this kid to 70% of what he's capable of then we still have a pretty damn good player on our hands.

Very good points. Marion also was great in transition, and PJIII is already known to run the floor very well especially for his size. Imagine a 6'11" Shawn Marion running the lanes. That being said we would definitely need to upgrade our perimeter shooting, but first step is aquiring the talent.
